Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
I received some good parts this week. Rear fuel tank, firewall pad, knobs, shift handle, door handles and hidden latch kit for the tailgate. I installed the overdrive to the 235 also. I hope it works well so I can drive it down the highway with out spinning a bearing
( 2 time now it happened). Today I went over to the paint shop to fab the latches and hinges. It came out nice and it sure will look good when it's painted. Sorry i don't have any pics. Body work is coming along. All the gaps look great and the doors shut right now. The inside will have a white dash and Brigade blue satin. Exterior will be base clear Brigade blue. Estimated completion time is Early September. I am ready to get it back! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pskanyzzl9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps6ewjyqzd.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psxc3hsplq.jpg |
Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Can't wait to see it all back together John. Going to be beautiful.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Me too! Hope the 235 purrs for a lot longer this time!

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
I hope so too. The oil pick up was in the wrong place so it was oil starved. The only damage was the main bearings and two rod bearings. I hope to get it in the truck in a couple of weeks. The painter will have the front off to paint the firewall next week so I get the engine placed before the front goes back on. Hopefully I won't scratch anything!

A little further on the truck this week. Got the inside and fire wall painted satin Brigade blue (507) and I think it looks killer! Still have some blocking to do on the cab and bed. i will be installing the engine so the inner fenders can be put back on. Getting closer!

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Man looks good. Since you have the floor and behind fuel tank masked off what's the plan to cover that with?

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
507 is on and it looks great! I stopped by the paint shop and l had to take a peak into the booth and see the results and they were more than I expected. Jason laid down a beautiful shiny base/ clear of 507 and it's perfect! His crew did an great job on the body work! The doors and fenders are like glass. Just look at the pics. The hood and bed should be shot this week.

I took my wife to go see my truck Thursday . (You can see her in the background) They got a little further this week on the assembly. The front end is almost together. Body lines are perfect and the doors open and closes smooth. The front and rear glass is going in next week and i also I hope I can get the bed assembled and put on the truck.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
I was stationed in Bavaria for six years and loved it. The TUV is pretty hard on inspections and i thought it would be real tough on older trucks. My 84 BMW was taught to get thru them for inspection. Especially the brakes.
