Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates
Hey CaptainFab,
I saw you mention in one of your posts that this plate will work with your booster mounting brackets. Does that mean it's compatible with the booster mounting bracket (i guess it's more of a kit) that you make for the trucks that use the original master cylinder for the brakes and the clutch? Thanks! |
Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates
To mount your 1999 hydroboost unit you will need this booster bracket and the hydroboost mounting plate in this thread. Then everything will bolt together. However you will have to lengthen the hydroboost pushrod. There are a few ways to go about that.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates
Payment received. Do you need a booster bracket to mount this to the firewall correctly?

Yes that is correct. I just wasn't sure if you already had one of my booster brackets.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates
I do not have a '67-'72 standard booster bracket or a hydroboost mounting plate in stock in satin black powder coat. That will take up to a week to have done. I will send you a PM with ordering and payment info.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates
There seems to be a misunderstanding with some people that think that you HAVE to use a Astro/Safari van hydroboost unit with this hydroboost mounting plate. That is NOT true. You can use any GM hydroboost unit. Once you remove the factory mounting bracket, they are all interchangeable.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates
Hey Captain - Back with a new project.
I'm working on a 72' C10 that is currently power disc/drum, but I'll be converting to disc/disc. I'd like to run a hydroboost. I have a few questions for you and folks who have done this. 1. My understanding is I'd need your booster adaptor and hydroboost adapter. 2. Would I need the socket, assuming I buy a new hydroboost? I'm assuming yes, to mount it to the new bracket at least. 3. Do we know if modifications to the pushrod are needed with the adaptor/hydro-plate to reach the brake pedal, or do they typically have enough adjustment? Thanks all! |
