Last saturday I went and picked up this parts cab from Alan for the outer roof panel. The one on my cab looks like twenty miles of bad road. As always enjoyed talking trucks with Alan.

And here are pictures after I removed the panel. I used a spot weld cutting drill bit that I bought off of the tool truck. After a couple of hours and not a whole lot of progress I went to harbor freight a bought a different style of spot weld cutter. These things work great. The first bit was $20 and the second was $4.99.

Looking good Greg.
I thought I saw you driving out last weekend with that cab on your trailer. |
Re: Greg65 build thread
It was kinda of a quick run. I'm bringing it back in a couple of weeks so I will try to stop by and see you.

Re: Greg65 build thread
Cool. It'll be good to see you again.
Not much progress on my side, but hopefully that'll change in the near future. My wife finally got a job this week after being unemployed for a little over a year now. |

Married life is much better than the first one, I think that says it all. I have been doing a lot of mental work on my truck for the last several months, and that is really draining, I've been researching and planning what changes I really want to make to get it right rather than just throwing it together. I hope to physically get back on it some time next year. |

Re: Greg65 build thread
Last night I drilled out all the spot welds on my roof panel. I was uncertain of what I would find when I removed the panel but to my surprise the bedding was minimal. When I bought my cab it was sitting in a chicken house. Tonight i'll start grinding down the spot welds and get ready to weld the replacement panel in place. Try to post pictures in later.

I got the driver's side inner fender, inner fender cup, and wiper linkage sandblasted and primered today. Still waiting to get done with the grille mounting panel. Not sure if I can get it done over the weekend or not. I work one Saturday a month and it comes around way to fast. Next on the list is finding a good drivers side door. It felt good make a little head way for a change.

Re: Greg65 build thread
Nice build you have going on. Just finished reading it and will try to keep up with it. What I like most about these build threads is watching everybody take their trucks apart, making my repairs much easier. Thanks
