UPDATE: We pulled the front fenders to paint and there was a perfect unblemished or faded example of the color .. took the whole freakin' fender down to the paint shop to match it ..
NOTE: We were able to locate a color code we had decided on during my prior attempt to paint the beast. Picking up the new single stage green to get er' done... Hi All, Hopefully someone can help me out. I am trying to paint my GMC Burb the original colors.. the bottom was a darker green like a Forest Green but the paint codes I can find show a lighter green. Does the VIN on these show the actual paint code if it was a two-tone ? Anybody have a better paint code list than I have been able to find ? |

Well if you ever need the original paint color on a 1960, and your fenders are original and never removed .. this area is protected with a rubber gasket and shows the original color ..

Re: 1960 GMC Suburban
Please share when you get a color match done on that fender. The roof and hood are looking very nice!

Ready to start looking for the right upholstery to try to match or get close to the original that was in it when my father bought this in 1960 .... Anybody know of a source for this type of material ?

Moving along on the paint.. removed all the front sheet metal , which of course resulted in a lot more cleaning and front end painting.....

HI KIC, it's been a while and hope all is well. Just a bump to reach out.

Re: 1960 GMC Suburban
Welllll... it is a little stalled at this point...... Due to excessive High heat ( Arizona Summer) and the spray booth taking a direct hit from a large tree branch separated from the host tree during a summer storm.... it has just sadly stalled. Hoping to get it back on track here real soon...
