Oh yea, i almost forgot. I got the wheels and tires on. I went in a little bit of a different direction than what i was originally planning. They are Mickey Thompson 17x9 Classic III wheels with 33/12.5r17 Mickey Thompson MTZ tires.:metal:

Re: Project "It's a Jimmy Thing"
I like that wheel/tire set up. I ended up doing the same thing. Went with bigger wheels and tried to keep the old school bullet hole wheel theme.

Not a whole lot to report. I am pretty much done and just waiting to get my seats and rear panels back from the upholsterer. Here are a few pictures with the bumpers and trim on.

Awsome work! I really like the way your engine swap looks stock, like your Jimmy came from the factory with it.

Re: Project "It's a Jimmy Thing"
Milk crate works good. Just have to hold on tight with no back on it. Push it all the way back to the rear lifted lip so it doesn't slide.

I have upholstery problems, well upholsterer problems i should say. I fired him last night so now i need to find some one else to finish up my seats.
To make a long story short he has had my seats since early March and always had an excuse on why it was taking so long. He did manage to get me the pieces that i told him were low priority done like the rear panels and they look pretty good. Come to find out he was having trouble with the seat backs since the new foam was a little thicker and he couldn't use the old covers as patterns. He just wasn't skilled enough to do a custom job like this. Anyways I'm on the hunt for a new upholsterer. Can anyone recommend any body close to me? Here are some pictures of what i have so far. |

Appearance Products Inc
http://www.appearanceproductsinc.net/#!upholstery/cfvg Not super close to you & I've never used them personally but I know a few people who have & they do a real good job & stand behind their work but are expensive. I work right down the road from them & there is always really nice stuff getting work done there. Or Mark's Upholstering & Auto Trm in Jenison, MI. He has done several project for both me & my dad. He is a smaller 1 man shop but does good work. I already talked to him about doing my Blazer seats & it sounds like about $200 for labor per seat + materials to make & install the covers. |

Re: Project "It's a Jimmy Thing"
That's tough luck. Here's hoping you get 'em in soon so you can enjoy your summer and all your hard work. The side panels look great though...
...that last pic is what I call a utility bucket. |

Thanks guys for the recommendations on upholstery shops. I end up using a shop that was closer to me and could get it done quick. The seats turned out good. They are not perfect but for what i have into the entire interior i could not buy a set of front vinyl bucket covers so i am not complaining.
I have been having a blast driving it around. I have about a 1000 miles on it now and it runs and drives great. I need to get some good pictures of it outside but here are some of the seats. |
