Your truck is really looking good. Did you say you were going to paint it a two tone? What other color if you are going to do that. |
Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Thanks Dennis, Good luck with the shifter.
My two tone color is the same grey I painted the frame and gaige pods. The upper part of the cab and doors and the area between the body side mouldings will be the grey. I'm thinking the grill and bumpers will be the same grey, not sure yet. |

I think I'm going with a satin black, on the bottom half, and a shinny Corvette Torch Red on top, with red tuc n roll interior. I'll have my Kustom Rides logo on the door. The old school look. |

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Painting it is so far down the road. I might change my mind by then. But the red interior will stick. Before I put the windshield in I'll paint the dash, and around the windshield frame.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
My first thought was a hail storm was coming so you had too park everything inside. Like we did on the flight line in San Antonio. You diffenately have something to do.;)

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Next is a 99 Tahoe coming in for a 4/5 Belltech Drop kit install. That's gravy. Hopefully by then I have the Ford panel, and Challenger out of there. The steering column is done, now all I have left to do on the Ford is make it shift with a GM column & a C-6 Ford Transmission I installed. Then on the Challenger I have to replace the trunk floor. I'm almost half done with that. This is getting to be like a regular business. I'm working my ass off. I'm lucky, at least I'm keeping busy.

I did a little more on my truck yesterday. I'm making the pedal assembly attach to under the dash and be strong. I have to fab some brackets. I'm almost done with it. I also cut out the speaker grill, and will fill it later. I'll post some pictures soon.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
was your speaker grill good?
I need a repair piece |
Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
By the way, the trunk floor in the Challenger come out real nice. I never did get that lowering job from that Tahoe.:waah: But have a Corvette coming in soon for some work.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
You going to lower your truck? I was reading some thread and you seem to know a lot about it. I was just wondering why everyone raises the bed of there truck to hide the compressor. Can't they hide it under the truck somewhere? Had to go check out the posters again could'nt help it.

Here's some I did on newer trucks. The same can be done on the older trucks too. This is what it would look like if you didn't cover it. http://belair.smugmug.com/photos/9301893_ZFADH-M.jpg http://belair.smugmug.com/photos/9298600_PfGka-M.jpg http://belair.smugmug.com/photos/9299452_DtcYk-M.jpg When done you can Line-X the bed. It really finishes it off. http://belair.smugmug.com/photos/9299443_rhDrZ-M.jpg http://belair.smugmug.com/photos/9301891_jCKjE-M.jpg I did a lot of set ups like this one. I did as many as 4 compressors, and 4, 3 gallon air tanks. http://belair.smugmug.com/photos/9301872_ec8k8-M.jpg Here's one I did with 3, 3 gal tanks, and 2 compressors http://belair.smugmug.com/photos/9298589_veoyi-M.jpg Here's one with 2 5 gal tanks, and 3 Big Viar Compressors. http://belair.smugmug.com/photos/9055448_vyxvy-M.jpg And to answer your question. Hell yeah I'm going to bag it. I don't know if I want it to lay frame, but it will be really low. Like my old 56 Belair. This is without notching the frame. http://belair.smugmug.com/photos/12187232_Xknjb-M.jpg |
