Why you say what?! Lol. What part is shocking.
The bridge is. I cut about 1/4 inch off each end of the bridge tubes were they we're welded. If your interested just give me a call and we can talk about it. It's still very usable with some small mounting plates on it.

i need to stop tinkering with new ideas lol, ill never get stuff finished if i keep switching it up!

i meant "what" as in i cant believe you pulled the body off lol.

hey, what was the reason for swapping to scotts rear setup instead of the dropmember?

Re: 68 Burb... here we go!!

Well to be honest I just didn't like it. Nate makes a nice product and I really wanted it and was all gun ho about going all porter. Durring the install and after I just was not feeling it. Trying to build something different. Seems like in the last year a ton of trucks have dm's installed and I wanted set my truck appart.
I talked to Justin and really liked what they were doing over there. The rest is history. I've ordered the rest of Scott's susp parts. I like it all to match.

More to come soon guys!! I have PB hood hinges, brake lines, and some air lines to install.

oh and some wiring..... ok a lot of wires... lol. Sure wish I had a friend who likes to do wires.... hint, hint.....;)

Re: 68 Burb... here we go!!

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I'll keep at it to get this bad boy together a little quicker. My last piece is on its way from Scott's.
Should I put my drive train in while the frame is out? Set the engine trans, drive shaft and exhaust? What do you think? What would you do?

Looking good Juan...you definitely changed directions with this:D.....looking forward to seeing it rolling again!!!....JMHO, I would go ahead and put the drivetrain and exhaust in now...how about the fuel and brake lines too...easier accessibility:D

I would drop the motor and tranny in place and do your drive line and exhaust it will make it alot easier for you and you will be able to see all and how it will all look

Re: 68 Burb... here we go!!

Just curious why the 4-link is inside the frame rails?
Running a super wide wheel/tire combo?

jmedero 12-18-2011 09:03 PM

Re: 68 Burb... here we go!!

Well a couple of reasons. The way I plan on running my exhaust will go right through the frame about a foot before the frame kicks up in the rear.
I would like to at some point go with a wider tire wheel combo in te rear. I am sure it won't be a 14 incher but with the exhaust going back there every inch counts.
I also spoke with several guys and fabricators here in town. They said they like the links inside the frame for ride quality.
That's why I went with an in the frame set up.

Well put in a few hours today trying to get this phase wrapped up. Final welded in all the brackets and got it all painted. I'll be putting it back together the next few days. I'll post up some pics when I can.
