Well did a few things on the workshop to get it ready for plywood next week. Simple stuff like additional cement anchor screws and adding an inside corner 2x4 to connect inner plywood/drywall to.

Then on to the truck....Went and go some fastener for the door panels but was out of luck so i could only install one door panel and order the other fastener set. Had to modify the window cranks to make them fit but i got them to...Dont like how they hold on so im adding holes to these stupid cranks to make them more solid otherwise they just wobble a bit...stupid stupid design

Also whats up with aftermarket door lock pins? 1/2" of screw and bam...your done...So now i have a 1/4" of screw showing at the bottom when unlocked? WTF!!!?!!! Now im going to have to cut off a 1/2" of that lock piece to make them fit nicely sheesh....Garbage

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

I was looking at a set of window cranks like those on Ebay but not so sure i want them now they had them in plain, red and blue. Looked cool but if they wobble it will just drive me nuts.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

well what it is they didnt fit..SO i had to grind them out....I should of secured it in place before installing the door panel so ill let you know how the other piece fits...Probably will be better...Ill let you know my results

:lol: I just got back from Auto-zone. I bought a pair of door lock knobs and the package says if they don't fit they want you to actually cut the factory door lock rod down 1/4 of a inch at a time till they fit!!!!!

Hopefully the ones I got are long enough.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

The ones I bought fit well, they are made of metal with a little bit of wood trim. When unlocked the bottom is still below the door panel.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

These are replacing the ones I got from Classic industries. They were more expensive, made of plastic, were not threaded correctly, were to short and broke two days later.....

Finished the plywood and caulked a bunch of gaps...Still need to caulk the top against the roof. Also need to sand the excess off as it looks like i went nuts lol

Will be putting some felt on the walls thanks to the advise of RUSbuilt

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

looks good and solid, use lots of screws
plywoods better idea ,the particle board dosn't hold up
heard of peoples older garage walls/siding pulled away,
gained access breaking the particle board,
even right beside the door, and reaching around to unlock

Well i smoothed the caulk and started painting.. Behr Premium Plus Exterior color matched to my vinyl siding...

Got it all done and luckily it dried since some rouge storm hit out of no where!! UGH!!!!!!! But its done and it didnt wash off... I have some fixing to do as I just figured out the supports are actually water channels as well... So the outside wall leaks onto the top of the wall.

I have some silicon to put in the channel on the top of the screws and some spray foam to go into the small gap just about the top of the wall

Starting to come along. Your jambs/inner doors look good.

When do you start the outside?
