Wait, did you do a flip kit in the back? I thought those kits were a 5" drop...

$650ish with some minor patches and a few other things thrown in the bill. He's going to paint dash, kick panels, floor, roof etc. (Basicly complete interior paint). If you're free one of the days I'm gutting it swing by and have a beer. I'd like to see your truck

I doubt you'd get a 5" drop without a flip kit

I did the 5" flip kit but it only measured out to 4.25". Not sure why that is though.

After you asked me this question I got to looking at the kit that I ordered and realized that the shocks for the front were not the correct shocks that I installed. They sent me a Part# 1409 and DJM website says that I need a Part#1309. It shows that the 1309 has approx. 11/16" more travel than the 1409. Does this mean the front end will lower 11/16" more with the correct shock?

Yeah I would imagine that using the correct shock would drop it 11/16ths more I could be mistaken too.

I haven't driven the truck much but it seems to ride good with the combo.

that one is a lotttt closer... Did you replace both shocks? looks like one is pretty worn/dirty in one picture... could that be the difference we're seeing?

Here is a picture after I had the truck aligned. The distance between the bump stops now are the same but my truck is still leaning to the driver side 1/2". I bought a 1/2" coil spring spacer to even it out and should be getting it by the weekend. Another member said that they had their frame checked and it was tweaked causing the "Chevy Lean". They said it cost approx. 400$ to have it fixed. The reason is the frame doesn't have connecting supports on the front and the read but only near the center (If I understood correctly). I climbed under my truck and low and behold this is what I found.

Okay, so now educate me if you don't mind. That looks like a "support" piece that looks like its bent is that, what that is or am I wrong?

That is the frame underneath the drivers side door.

Ahhhh yeah I have to admit that doesn't look good. Which I know that's stating the obvious, what could have caused that?

It's normal.

Don't freak out.

Chevy put it there to clear the massive cat back in the day. There are threads on here specifically regarding that part of the frame. It is normal.

I know I freaked out when I first saw mine.

Not sure. I was going to take the truck to the paint shop yesterday evening to get a hard quote and see when they were going to start on it but our meeting got canceled. I have to call around lunch and see when he wants me to bring it up there.

What was the over all drop on the front and back? I just completed a drop on the front of mine and it came out to exactly 4". The back is next and I am thinking of doing a flip kit but don't want to go too low.

Sodell, the rear dropped approx. 4.25" with the 5"flip kit from DJM.. What are your plans for your truck?

Re: Project Platinum C10

The PO took out a leaf spring and it sat about 1" lower, and I would have had to replace the springs to do a flip kit. I just installed a set of 2" shackles. I think I still need a bit more so I am going to get a set of hangers, I think it needs another inch or two. What do you think?
