Plan is to now make a little tilt floor in the center of it all. Not sure if I'm going to do the normal tilt it forward or be a little different and have it tilt sideways.

Dont know how I missed this build thread. Just read through all of it and love the way the truck is turning out. I was looking at making my bed floor bolt in also and you have given me some good ideas on how to do it. Keep up the nice work!

Made a little progress on the bed floor. Im planning on having the bed floor tilt sideways to be a little different then most. I have some stuff to figure out still but Im trying :)

Don't mind the pieces of metal tack welded on top. They were there so I could make sure everything was flush with the floor that wont move. (Really I just don't have enough clamps)

I get a tilt bed for access to components for service.... Sideways just to be different? Not so much (unless it offers equal access to everything).

I might be out of the loop here, but did you just drill a hole in the inner bed liner and access the back of the bolt from the cutout where the rear wheels sit?

Inspirational stuff for sure.

So ya I did just drill a hole in the inner bed. You can access the bolts from the bottom also. Kinda hard to explain but if you got under your truck and looked up you would see what im talking about.

Hey Scotti the tilt floor is only for access to the components. If I do tilt it side way's I should still have the same amount of access.
I got the idea from this truck.

I made some changes to the tilting part of the bed floor. I didn't like how I had it stopping due to the rear crossmember I had in place.
Once again don't mind the bars sitting on top. just there to hold everything in place for now.

I decided it was time to build some wheel tubs for the truck. besides the fire wall this is my first real project with sheet metal. I know some wont like them but im happy with how they are turning out and the owner likes them also. Im going to post some pics step by step to give you guys how im building them.

First I drew the parts in the computer and had a friend cut them out. then I bead rolled the panel. after that I rolled the edge with the read roller and this caused a lot or distortion in the panel so I went and bought a shrinker/stretcher setup from harbor freight (actually happy with them) and starting shrinking the edge so pull the panel back straight. Once I had both panel straight I went to a friends shop and had him put a 90 for a flange.

at this point I went and got some more steel and had a local hot rod shop shear a few pieces for me so I could build the top panels of the wheel tubs. I then rolled the edge of the panel while applying downward pressure to help form the panel in a arc. Then I started tack welding the panels together. slowing fitting the panels together with no gap and trying to align them perfectly.

then as you can see in the first picture the end of the tubs were long and needed to be bent so I had a flange. I went back to the local hot rod show where they were nice enough to let me use there brake. and that pretty much brings you to the current status of the tubs.
