Yes, Tony does some great work. It's to bad he is not on here anymore. I tried to buy this truck when he had it for sale. If it wasn't for the bad economy it would have been mine.

My other plans are to find a set of stock wheels and hubcaps and put some tall skinnys back on it like the originals. Other than that It might get a rust free set of fenders, some bed wood and thats about it. I like the patina of this old truck too. I kinda wish I never would've primered my 67 as it had an awesome patina back in the day.

Heres a few more pics of my 60.

Its even got Patina on the interior.

And it is suprisingly solid for being a Nebraska truck and having a snoplow on it for part of its life.

I had the same idea with my '63. The PO has already put a looks like Camaro or Nova front cross member and for some stupid reason welded the motor mounts on it, so we figured since it won't be all original or nothing we wanna do something wicked with it and I've always wanted a Dodge Diesel, so we thought bout putting a Cummins in it but them things are freaking expensive! lol

What's your frame look like? I know quite a few people up there that have rusted out frames from the salt on the roads and stuff. Down here where I'm at we have salt in the air (ocean breeze) so our bodies rust out alot faster.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

My frame is nice and clean(rust free that is). I'll snap a few pics later.

If you want a Cummins you can find em cheap, just gotta keep your eyes and ears open on CL and what not. I paid 1700 for my 90 5 years ago and its been my driver since then it now has over 400,000 on it, The 96 parts truck I bought I paid 1500 for.

Damn thats another nice truck!:metal:
My cousin had a 97 Dodge diesel and that thing would get through any mud hole we ever took it through. For right now we're just gonna throw a 350 in it but I'd like to eventually build a bad ass 283 to put in it and get the original steering column with the 3 on the tree.

Ol' 'Big Ugly' sure does have some potential....
By looking at your pic's, I can pretty much calculate where to mount that Unity top-mount spot light that I've been hangin' on to....
Still can't decide on top mt. or cowl mt....I have both.
But that big red truck should definitely make us all smile when you two get her dialed in.

Actually, I can't swear that the top-mt is a Unity....But it looks like the one on Big-Ugly.

66Gil...
It's a bit strange....me, having so many things to do today, taking the time to watch an amateur video production about Kens (Barbies Baby Daddy) four wheelin' trip at the river last weekend in the ol' 64 crew-cab.
The funny thing is.....I really want to bust his ba!!$ on the Auto-Zone after market replacement mirrors and not bolting the plates back on after painting it.

Other than that, the rig is a beauty.....nice job on the paint....sits just right.
I especially like the double-dark window tinting.......that way when Ken takes a pull off the ol' Jim Beam bottle, all the kiddies can't see that he's started to slide down that slippery slope.
Next thing ya' know, he'll be "ridin' dirty" on the interstate with twice the legal limit of Beam pulsing through his little veins.......gettin' pulled over by the Fischer/Price cops for driving like a Weeble-Woble......gettin' the '64 impounded while all the time Barbie's at home takin' care of her.........
Oh....Sorry Gil....
I got carried away a bit.
I got to get somethin' done todaay. Talk to you guys in a bit.

That looks to be a special color. My 1966 4X4 was painted a little lighter green then that for the California Park Service.
