and bumper to bumper is about 18feet 8in. Does anybody know what bumper to bumper is on a longbed? |
Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
Holy smokes at over 18 feet you have officialy made land yacht status!
Now I understand why some guys are sectioning the front of the bed or tossing the body on a 4-wheel steering frame. It's just awesome in sheer length, and one of my favorite builds to watch. |
Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
That's only two inches more that a late dodge crew cab short bed but the cool points are out of this world with the c10

I was thinking the same thing, this weekend when I get it off the trailer I think I'm going to mock up the fenders and grill to get some pics. |

Well not much progress this weekend, tucson hit its first 100 degree day yesterday and today its 105. But I did manage to get the truck off the trailer and work on it a little. I did a quickie lowering job on the front end so it would sit level
and I failed at that still to high. So I went ahead and mocked up fenders and grill for a few pics. I didn't use my 68 core support because I didn't want to scratch it up so I used a later one just for mock up. so heres some pics |
Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
I don't know how much you know about these trucks so I just thought I would throw this out there, if you already know then great.
You can only lower the front end 2" before the alignment geometry on stock spindles is unreconcilable, you will have to get 2.5" drop spindles, with 1 or 2" drop springs depending in how low you want to go, then on top of that you will have to either modify your stock upper Control Arms or buy/build upper drop tubular control arms because the angle of the ball joint will be too extreme. |
Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
That is one LONG truck. Love the work yo have done so far and looking forward to seeing the rest of it come together.
