Re: '67 5.3L Build Thread
I just found out that the CS130D alternator uses a different connector than the older CS130 so the AC Delco part number I listed in post #361 will not fit the CS130D alternator on the LSx engines.
I'm pretty sure GM will have a version of the resistor pigtail for the CS130D but I don't have a part number for it. |
Re: '67 5.3L Build Thread
Great info!

Re: '67 5.3L Build Thread
I finally got my AC system installed and charged up today. Just had 1 leak at one of the fittings that I forgot to tighten. I will try to post pics of the install soon. Man, is it nice to have some cold air blowin', just in time for summer.

Here are the pics of the new AC system installed. The whole kit is the Old Air setup, except for the compressor blocks (Docs Blocks P#AA2210 and Ray's Auto Air & Heat P#06300739), the hoses (custom made by The Hose Man), and the compressor (stock 5.3L setup). The relay was added to turn both electric fans on when the AC on button is pressed.

Here is a pic of the center console I made. It's not perfect, but it will work for now.

67C10BUB.... did you have to cut the frame to clearance for the compressor with the Doc's blocks?

Re: '67 5.3L Build Thread
Got a 69 out back that I was waffling about the engine package until I saw this thread! I certainly hope you continue to post your progress as this looks like its going to be great! Good luck with it, I was encouraged beyond measure!!!

Super nice project you have going on. Lots of great info.
I was wondering, can the compressor be removed with the engine installed in the truck? If it ever needs replacing can you get out with out pulling the motor loose? Thanks and keep up the great work. |

These are some pics that I am including for future reference. The first one is how I mounted the actuator for the power door locks and the other is to show how much needs to be ground off of the drag link to clear the one-piece windows.

Re: '67 5.3L Build Thread
Just went through your entire build thread. Your motor install is very clean and looks like a factory install. Everything is well planned and thought out. Ive been wanting to do an Ls swap myself and you have given so much knowledge in your rightup that I believe I can get it done. Thanks

This truck is for sale, so I am posting some more recent pics to show the 1 piece windows and current interior. All this could be yours for only $20000.

Re: '67 5.3L Build Thread
Thought this was going to be your daily driver? Really nice truck! Good luck with the sale!
|
Re: '67 5.3L Build Thread
It is my daily driver, but it ended up closer to a show truck. I just dont want to ruin it, or have it stolen driving it every day. Besides, I could really use the money.
