Spare? you would be the hit of the campsite with some ice and a bunch of tall necks in that well!

Well, so far I plan on making it. There is still a small event called OU football, that I have to get out of working. I think I have everything covered but will not know until late Thursday.

Just looked through your build. All I can say is WOW!. You've done an excellent job and defiantly thinking outside the box. Keep up the great work. Those LT1's run great. I love my fuel injection. So worth the work.

Steering shaft is on page 4 and 7. 4 was mock up and 7 was close to done.

As far as updates.. not really, I have spent some time before Christmas working on getting the bed straight. It is kicking my tail. I wish they repopped the beds. I would buy one in a heart beat.

I also picked up a 61 Apache 4x4 short bed a couple of weeks ago. Kitted the carb and got it running right today on its own gas..

SWB fleet bedsides are now available via reproduction...guy posted on Facebook a couple months ago mentioning it, & he was a vendor...I had not heard & had to look to believe it ....how well they fit/look I'm unaware of ;)

I want to know more... I have hours and hours in mine. it is about the best I can do.. But definitely interested in what a reproduction costs and fitment..

I need a rear driveshaft and bleed the brakes and clutch. I am sure it has a leaky clutch slave cylinder but that is easy. It had some build up around it and the master cylinder was empty.. If I had a driveshaft I would be driving it in an hour... But it does have a front drive drive shaft so it may a 61 front wheel drive to move it around the yard.. :)

Well, looks like I told you wrong! I just went back to look & noticed that I was looking at inner bedsides for the SWB stepside on LMC....when I looked a couple months back, the guy from Facebook said LMC had them...apparently I just looked at it all wrong....the other guy on there (supposed vendor) said several companies make them...now I'm not so sure that's the case....sorry for misleading you fellas :(....i'll do some more digging just to make sure...the ones I was looking at are in the link below:

This place has them in fiberglass but only show a 8 foot bedside. I would definitely go for some fiberglass 6 foot sides.

I wanted new bed sides also. Can't believe no one makes them. Probably be junk like most of the reproduction parts.

Your truck is coming along great.

No support. I bought one but it seems to be working fine without it. I should have clocked my steering wheel correctly before I welded it up though.

I have experienced some times when the steering seemed to bind but it has only happened twice when turning at slow speed but I can't reproduce it. it could be in my remote reservoir or something.

While I am here i will upload a pic from a couple of weeks ago. Primed the bed but it still needs a ton of sanding. At least it is straight now.

This was after a quick little cruise on a nice Sunday afternoon. Drove about 50 miles. No mechanical issues, other than the cruise still doesnt work. But I think I have it figured out. The third brake light that I eliminated has to be plugged in or a resister has to be put in line to make it work.

Pulled the bed off last weekend and getting ready to prime and sand a few times before paint.. FINALLY, you know you are done with body work when you are sick and tired of looking at it. It wont be perfect but it will be mine..
