No pics lately. I've been trying to finish all the loose ends. My old man helped me bleed the brakes last weekend. I have to bust ass this week and finish up everything so he can come help my un electrically inclined self wire this thing up finally. Maybe... Just maybe I might be able to try And fire it up this weekend.

I would like to give a special thanks to Boondogs72 for sending that emblem to me. Thank you so much! If you need any parts let me know. I'll have some left over from this truck and I have a whole 78 parts truck. Just let me know if you need anything.

I've been super busy on this stupid thing. Every time I think I'm getting close it takes me forever... However I really am getting close. The old man came and helped me with the wiring. The airbag setup is 90% done and now I just have to finish buttoning up everything. The only thing left to fabricate is the fan shroud. I was going to run the stock fan/radiator but after looking into trans coolers it's almost as expensive to just buy a new radiator with the Cooler ports installed and it came with an electric fan.
Tonight I need to try and finish the fuel lines and trans cooler lines and put the belts on. If I have time I'll start working on the fan shroud.

Here are a few pics. I'm going to try and hide most of the wiring if I can. I may just leave it so I can get it on the road.

Boondog I started polishing the emblem you sent but it's going to to take me a bit. There's a clear coat on it and I have to sand it all smooth before I can polish it out. I'm going to use it for sure but that will have to wait until I wrap everything else up.

Here are a few more. Nothing too exciting. I still need to tuck the airlines up and finish hooking up the wiring. I ran out of 1/4in air line and I need to pick up some today.

Short update. I'm going strong on this, we are about finished with the wiring. The majority of it is done we are just tucking wires and making sure everything is correct. Brakes are finished. Fuel lines are 90% done, should finish that tonight. I still have to make the fan shroud and put all the fluids in it. Unless something goes wrong we should be able to start it this weekend, no really... This time it should happen.
I'm going to go pick out my upholstery this Friday and start on that after we get it running. I still need to make the exhaust and order/make the wood for the bed and repaint my hood.
Hopefully we don't run into too many problems with the suspension or the drivetrain because I need to drive this soon... I got sick of working on it a long time ago... Haha!

Thanks Dino/Chevyfreak, I really appreciate it. Yeah Chevyfreak is correct. I actually bought it with this on and didn't know it wasn't stock until I saw the welding mess the PO made welding the brackets in. I thought it looked cool so I kept it.

I tried like hell to get everything done yesterday so we could start it but... As usual it didn't happen... This is getting beyond frustrating but the only thing left to do is wire up the coil. I had to make a coil holder because I ordered the wrong one and it took me longer than I had hoped to make it but its done and the coil is mounted. I put oil in the motor this morning and it's ready to go. If today wasn't Easter we would be trying to start it...

Trans cooler lines are done, fuel lines are done, most of the wiring is done, all the air lines are ran, shift linkage is finished.

The only thing left to do is fire it up and hope that everything goes well. Either tomorrow or Tuesday we will try. I'll post a video.

Haha! I do work hard but I wish I was making progress faster... Seems like every week I'm saying "next week we will start it"... Then a month later I'm saying it all over again... I have a few things to do tonight so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try firing it up.

White wall marks: I know you love to do this and it was what has worked for me on WWW's.....wetsand with 600 trifold the paper and use a block as the rubber wants to grab the paper worse than a painted panel would.

Thank you for the advice on the WW's NEWFISHER I will give that a try. I've been so busy trying to finish everything up I haven't tried to clean the tires again.
Last night we fired it up for the first time! I'm not sure if my fuel pump is bad or if I switched the lines "which is a good possibility"... It was late last night and I didn't have time to get into it too much but fuel isn't getting to the carbs. It isn't a big deal, I have another fuel pump so I will tackle that tonight. However, it did run for a second and it sounded pretty good but I don't have any exhaust ran yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I would post the video but my wife took it on her phone and I need to have her send it to me. Hopefully tonight I can figure out the fuel issue and really hear it run.
I need to learn how Dino does this so fast because I'm losing my patience... lol!

Thank you! I honestly can't remember how much I pancaked it. It wasn't a lot, I think maybe 1/2 inch??? And yes, I do have drop spindles.

I haven't done a whole lot on the truck the last few weeks because I competed in the IBJJF Vegas Open last weekend "Brazilian Jiu Jitsu" and took home Silver. I barely lost my last match but I'll come back and win gold next time. Now I have to get back on this truck and finish it...

Sorry, I know this isn't truck related but I'm excited I did so well. Not too bad for a guy with a bummed arm!

I'm ok, got a few stitches and went back home and finished up cotter keying the power steering. I'm more mad that I can't train for 2-3 weeks than anything else. Oh well, it'll heal.

Thanks guys it's just a few stitches, I'm more mad that I did it to myself than anything else... At least I can look back and laugh.

We did get the wiring finished and a few other things done yesterday. Now I just have to make my fan shroud and take it to the exhaust place. Hopefully I can drive it in the next week or two.

No offense taken, trust me no one laughed at the irony more than me... I have some big scars on my face and none of them are from fighting... Almost all of my injuries "and I've had a lot" are from my own stupidity, you just have to laugh at yourself.

Whenever you go to a new medical provider now they have a questionaire asking about your learning abilities.
"Do you learn better by reading, oral presentations, or demonstrations?"
I always note that "Painfully" is never on that list....which of course would apply to me best too.

That reminds me of the time when I was about 10 and decided it was a good idea to take a full swing at an exercise ball with a wood baseball bat and knocked myself out cold. Still have a nice scar above my right eye :lol:

Thanks everyone, I think the worst part is having to explain to EVERYONE what happened. On a positive note I may take up wearing purple/green eye shadow, chicks dig it! Lmao!

So... I finally made the fan shroud after procrastinating on it forever... Not having a metal brake makes things so much more difficult. But I'm pretty happy with it, I had to come up with some creative ways to bend it up "and not smash myself in the face". Tonight I'm going to paint it and get it all wired up.

The wiring is 99% complete, the air bags are all done and the switches work etc. I'm hoping to get it driving by Saturday so I can have the exhaust guy get to work. I'm supposed to bring it to my work picnic next week. Hopefully I can get all this finished by then.
