That looks good! I love the 67-68 side trim.

Thanks, if all goes as planned I hope it will be in the paint shop sometime in September.
Have a few little things I'm trying to do before then. I'm really worried I'm going to miss something and realize it after paint.

Looks awesome! You should throw up a little video clip so we can hear it too!

Spent the day getting a few odds and ends done. Started putting the front end trim on and got carried away it's complete minus headlights. I know this the hood and fender trim is 68 only but I really like it and plan on going with a white grill. Also got all the driver side trim on. Hope to work on the bed tomorrow, need to square it up and would like to get a working tailgate.

A question for you guys... Typically does a wood bed get sprayed with the tubs installed?

I a little late to the party but... Wow! Subscribed.

Re: 67c10 build

Haven't done anything too crazy lately. Got my wing windows disassembled and sent the pieces off to get re chromed. Thanks to roger Koop and his reference I saved over 300 dollars using his chromer. Also took my buddy bucket seat frame and center compartment down to get powdercoated. I still can't completely commit myself to a paint color. It's to the point it stresses me out and I don't even want to work on the truck. Hopefully I can get some pictures up of some progress by the end of the week.

Yeah man you sound pretty stressed out about it.
Don't :m6: have a :smoke: and a :barn: :aiiet:
There are definitely a lot of colors to choose from but ultimately you should go with your gut instinct on the color and it will be the right choice.

Re: 67c10 build

Sounds like you better go the plasti dip route for now. Just kidding, you will figure it out, your build is looking awesome, I don't think a color could down play what you have done. Keep at it.

Re: 67c10 build

Whatever you do don't follow my lead, I change my mind about colors more then I change my boxers  seriously though, any color you choose will look awesome on your truck.

Re: 67c10 build

i think whatever color you decide with your wheels and that trim it will really bring it out. have you narrowed the colors down any ? truck is looking good by the way.

Re: 67c10 build

Well if it makes you feel better, there's been been 47 years for people to put on every color there is on the 67, so trying to be different and "original" when it comes to paint I these trucks is very very hard. So just go with what you like regardless of if there's another 67 out there with that color

Re: 67c10 build

I wish I had some cool pictures and tons of updates but not a lot has been going on. I attempted to re build a set of wing windows that wound up in the garbage can. Even bought a set of re pops after hearing positive reviews on counter part wing windows. They look really nice but the fit was poor and at the top I could between the vertical bar and the weather stripping. So I should of saved myself the stress and money and contacted roger. He's got some ready but only in tinted class so I'm gonna hold out a few weeks till he gets a clear set built. Any day now I should be taking my truck to paint. I'm still leaning more towards green and white. I've got it envisioned in my head and it looks pretty sweet. I'm definitely going for an old man truck that's bagged. I'm going somewhere crazy with my build though... It's gonna have an in cab tank, heater box and even the original am radio! Oh yeah I said it.

I agree 100% I don't think you really can be different with these trucks. They've been built every which way over almost the last 50 years. I guess I'll just go with what I feel is cool.

Isn't light green a hard sell?
I've never been a used car salesman but it just seems like to me it would be hard to sell a light green anything, car, truck, van, motorcycle, boat, heck a golf cart for that matter
I know you have no intention of selling it but life happens and if something were to happen won't it be super hard to get someone to pay top dollar for a light green truck?
Just sayin, don't shoot the messenger. :exit:

Being an original color I don't think so at all. If it was a lime green 08 silverado then I'd agree with your comment 100% I think it has its place and an era it was popular in.

Re: 67c10 build

I think the green would be sharp, especially with the white and the trim.

scott have you seen the new issue of C/10 Builders Guide Magazine ? nice green one on cover you may like. i dig it

Re: 67c10 build

I really like the concept of the green from the Kia. I think a white top would make it pop. But you do it how you want! I used a factory paint scheme for my truck off a Nissan. I just added 3 coats of clear coat! Every one loves it!

Re: 67c10 build

Either or on the tubs. Just make sure it was at least primered to cover bare medal. Some would say put them on and paint for less risk of scratching when assembled. Honestly it's almost impossible to not scratch your paint in final assembly. Once mine is complete, that's my first stop! Back to my painter for touch up work! I recommend complete mock fitting my wood bed, lining and drilling all holes before paint.

Just read your entire build doth read and I'm blown away. I love everything about this truck! Really dig your build plans and the above quote is my favorite from the entire thread. I'm on board for this. :metal:

P.S. I'm going to stick with an in-cab tank and radio delete in my 71.

This truck needs a chrome front bumper something serious.

So I got the call! Truck went to paint today. Awhile back we agreed it'd be done first of the year so I hope he sticks to his word. If there is one thing a lot of us can agree on is painters are flakey. Here's us dropping it off in my friends F$#!. It's actually pretty dang nice 24x14 billets and 38s

Thanks Robbie, glad you like it so far hope it doesn't disappoint when it's done. I agree I'm not a fan of painted bumpers the chrome ones just look too damn good

And here she is in her new home. I'll update with progress pics as often and the progress is happening. The painter who is painting my truck is pretty well know high end painted. He's really big into semis and has been in magazines for his paint work. Also has done a lot of work for the picket brothers, the ones from the cmt show "trick my truck". Sure doesn't look so hot with the loaner rollers

Congrats on sending her off to paint Scott, can't wait to see it how it turns out. Did you nail down a color combo yet.

Sweet build! These trucks look great with stock appearance and lowered with custom rims. It will be cool to see this come out of the paint booth!

Thanks, I wish I could say that I did. It's to the point I'm trying to get something to work with the interior colors I like. My two favorite interior colors are red and saddle and there's not a ton of exterior colors that go with it. I better do some serious thinking fast

Cool to see the truck going to paint even if you can't decide on a color

I think the two-tone with the light green will look great. The above truck is gorgeous.

I'm a fan of painted bumpers but not with any type of shiny trim.

Killer build you have going! I love the wheels and big block :metal: I'm glad I found your thread before you actually started driving this bad boy.
I love to watch a build come together. You have done a great job on everything.

I'm not a fan of Saddle but I do love a red interior. I like it so much that I decided to sell all my black interior pieces and switch to red. I figured if the truck is going to be Red then the interior should be too  there are plenty of colors that go with a red interior, black and red being the obvious ones but white, silver, gray and I've even seen blue with a red interior and it looked really good. I really like the gray/white combo on the craftsman C10 the roadster shop built.

If you do a saddle interior then you can add greens and blues to the combo of colors along with the ones above. Isn't it fun trying to pick a color  I'm still stuck on whether to do a white grill or not.

Very nice build. Your truck looks awesome, this will be sweet when done.
Red interior will be very sexy and different with that green and white plus with the exterior red emblems and brakes.
Great job.
