Re: Project Platinum C10
So I rode with a buddy of mine to the paint shop to get an estimate on his 64 Impala. The guy told me that a bay cleared out and my truck would begin tear down Monday! Super excited

Well I made it by the paint shop Thursday and got a couple progress pics. Friday they were finishing up the ding repair and getting ready to take the truck apart to start block sanding. Hopefully I can get more pics this Friday.

Re: Project Platinum C10
Looking good. Yours may be finished before mine lol. I need to call my painter tomorrow and see what's going on. I was hoping to have it back by this weekend so I could put it back together.
Do you know of any powder coaters in our area? |

Hey guys, I have been incognito for awhile. My truck still isn't finished!!!
I asked for a completion date Friday and they said approx 3 weeks. I've heard that several times before so I'm just hoping to get it back before Christmas,. The windows are being removed today, they said after the windows are removed they plan on priming and block sanding one more time. Tearing the truck down and putting it in the paint booth. On a positive note, I did get my badges in this past weekend though. |
Re: Project Platinum C10
They need to hurry up!!! I want to see some paint  it looks good even primed!
Those badges are KILLER!!! I love it man!! They everything you expect them to be? |

Man that just totally sucks that the paint guy just can't look you in the eye and tell you that in 6 months you will get your truck back.......instead they lie through their freaking teeth so they get the job....A$* Holes.

Re: Project Platinum C10
I got a call from the paint shop this morning. They told me that my new hood should be in around noon and they started taking the truck apart this morning. They asked if I could come in today and pick out the paint so they could get it into the booth. It's been along time coming and I have gotten aggravated somewhat waiting but I must admit. I am SUPER EXCITED!

I want to sign my name into the wet paint :-)

Re: Project Platinum C10
Oooohhh, I hate it when they shoot metalics with vertical panels laying down. So many times I can see the difference when the panel is vertical again when hung on the vehicle. I hope that you can't see the difference if they shoot the fender laying down like that! EEK!

Re: Project Platinum C10
Looks good! What gray did you end up going with? And too bad none of our trucks are done for the 11th St cruise tonight!

Updates from today. They have everything painted gray except the cab and bed. Once all the gray has been sprayed they'll re assemble the truck and tape off to spray the silver. After that they'll wet sand and buff the truck and spray in the bed liner.
