So I rode with a buddy of mine to the paint shop to get an estimate on his 64 Impala. The guy told me that a bay cleared out and my truck would begin tear down Monday! Super excited

Well I made it by the paint shop Thursday and got a couple progress pics. Friday they were finishing up the ding repair and getting ready to take the truck apart to start block sanding. Hopefully I can get more pics this Friday.

Haha, he told me it should be complete in 2 - 4 weeks. He originally told me it would be out around the the middle / end of this month so he is on schedule.....for now!

Looking good. Yours may be finished before mine lol. I need to call my painter tomorrow and see what's going on. I was hoping to have it back by this weekend so I could put it back together.

Do you know of any powder coaters in our area?

Extreme Powdercoating in Beaumont. The guy that owns it is named Chris Comalander. I know they do commercial type work and most likely can do what you need. Their number is 409-796-1335. They also have a big plasma cutter if you want something cut out.

Hey guys, I have been incognito for awhile. My truck still isn't finished!!!
I asked for a completion date Friday and they said approx 3 weeks. I've heard that several times before so I'm just hoping to get it back before Christmas,. The windows are being removed today, they said after the windows are removed they plan on priming and block sanding one more time. Tearing the truck down and putting it in the paint booth. On a positive note, I did get my badges in this past weekend though.

Haha, You want to see some paint? How do you think I feel  Man the badges are more than I expected. They are domed faced and solid polished aluminum. They come with the 3M adhesive tape stuck on the back. Very Very nice.

Yeah it's aggravating. If it takes 6 months just tell me that.

I got a call from the paint shop this morning. They told me that my new hood should be in around noon and they started taking the truck apart this morning. They asked if I could come in today and pick out the paint so they could get it into the booth. It's been along time coming and I have gotten aggravated somewhat waiting but I must admit. I am SUPER EXCITED!

Thanks! Man I was happy when I seen a little paint on it. They didn't have much done (Paint Wise) but some paint is better than no paint.

Oooohhh, I hate it when they shoot metalics with vertical panels laying down. So many times I can see the difference when the panel is vertical again when hung on the vehicle. I hope that you can't see the difference if they shoot the fender laying down like that! EEK!

They hang them in the paint booth to shoot them. I think they were giving the primer time to dry. lol, no worries.

I picked my colors from their paint chips and don't know the name of the colors. I can get the code off the chips if you'd like. Yeah it sucks that we missed the cruise. I missed the Silsbee cruise and 11th street.

Updates from today. They have everything painted gray except the cab and bed. Once all the gray has been sprayed they'll re assemble the truck and tape off to spray the silver. After that they'll wet sand and buff the truck and spray in the bed liner.

I designed it and sent it to Billet Badges. You can check out their website. They are very very good quality. Solid aluminum polished and powder coated lettering.
