Heartbroken! At least you're alright but seeing Slick like that just kills me.

Glad to see that you are safe. I was sickened when I saw the picture on Instagram....I was like oh sh*t I know that truck. I sure hope you decide to rebuild her and keep the legacy alive.
What a douche bag to run from the cops....He will get what he has coming eventually. Probably doesn't have two nickels to rub together either. I hope your classic insurance steps up to the plate.

I had a guy pull out in front of me when I was driving mine last week. Luckily my brakes are all good. I just about had a fit thinking about having to re-do all that work.
Anyway, My offer is still good if you need a frame. Best of luck to you

Me too Jarrod. I think I am worse today, feeling sick everytime I think about it.

The rebuild will happen, it just won't be Slick again, or at least that is how I see it now. I am hoping this guy has a rich mommy and daddy who bails him out of everything, it may be good for me!! At least he had insurance. It will spook me everytime I drive a classic now. Again, I sure wish you lived closer, that frame would be under Slick in a few short weeks.

Just glad you're ok. Seems like all the big chunks are still serviceable, might not be as bad as all that. Please keep up posted, it'll be interesting to see what the insurance saga turns out like.

The bed is good, the cab is twisted but hoping it is just the frame holding it that way. The cab rails on the bottom are bent bad tho. The front clip is gone, may be able to salvage the left fender with some body work. Overall it is worth buying it back from the insurance company. We'll see what they do!!!

Sucks to see for sure, glad you're ok though. Always seems to be some moron out there on parole or probation ruin somebody's day. My wife just got rear ended at a red light in Montana 6 weeks ago by a Drunk on probation doing 60mph. bikes a right off, she lost a spleen, fractured ribs, broken back and brain hemorrhage. amazingly she and our dog, even though they flew 85 feet, survived the impact and they're both up and walking around already. he had no insurance and no license. we are now fighting with our insurance, good luck to ya.

I appreciate that JJ, and you are right! One moron can mess up everything from 5 years of hard work. I hope they have a speedy and full recovery bud!!!:metal:

Wow, glad you were not seriously hurt. I'll be following the reconstruction...:)

I hope you get at least some compensation, somehow. Thankfully living in Texas will help. From a legal stand point Texas laws take care of victims better than most states....

The estimate adjuster came out to my storage yesterday and said that yes it was totalled, but corporate has to confirm this. I should be getting a call from the loss adjuster next week is what I was told. Too many adjusters!!!! Here are some pics of the close-up damage that you can't see in the other pics. These pics show how hard the hit was.

I have enjoyed viewing your truck at many local events here in Houston. I am so sorry for what you are going through with the accident. As many have mentioned, your health is the most important thing. Everything can be rebuilt with enough time, patience, and funding. I truly hope everything works out with the insurance company.

Man! I am sorry this has happened to you and your beautiful truck, Hope it all works out to your favor, that driver needs to be put away for life for doing that kind of damage to your loved one. Lets face it these trucks are our loved ones.

Thank you!! The process sucks but I'll post up the latest with the insurance company fiasco. Everyone will get to see first hand how this is handled in the real world.

I have high hopes that it pays off for what it is covered for. In my eyes it is totalled as well as the estimator and a resto shop who looked at it. My next post will detail what I was told last week by the adjuster. I coulda strangled him through the phone.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Last week was a FAIL for American Collectors Insurance. The adjuster who has my case really didn't accomplish anything except to piss me off really bad.......bad enough to cuss at him. I normally wouldn't do that. He told me to take my truck (that doesn't roll) to a shop of my choice and put it on a lift so the estimator could look at it closer. He went on to say that I could have that shop start doing the repairs and that they were ready to pay 7k to 8k to have it fixed. (Insert expliatives here) This was a slap in the face. I literally exploded with classy words. He was very snobby and matter-of-fact about it. I told him fine, I'll put it on a rack, but they will pay for everything. He said they would reimburse me............well that ain't gonna work..........they want me to have the truck disassembled by the shop at $85 dollars an hour. No sir. I hung up and threw a few things and b*tched for a while. An hour later I called back and asked the lady who answered to put me in touch with that guys manager, she did. The manager made everything a little more clear. He has built a couple of trucks and understood exactly what I was saying. I agreed to have my truck towed and put on a lift. He explained that for a truck valued and insured for $40k they wanted to make sure that the damages totalled the truck without any doubt, that sounds reasonable to me. Friday Slick will be on a lift for the estimator to look up her skirt. + + + Until the next update, keep on truckin.

I sure hate it too. We will know better by Monday what their intentions are, hopefully. This should give everyone a little better idea of how all this works if any of us are in this situation. One thing that will help is to have an appraisal done before any bad luck.
