i think that'll be "icing on the cake" for the body...should break up the orange nicely and tie it all together

Oh OK, I didnt know you were putting the trim on the side. How are you going to drill all the holes for the trim. Does anyone have a template to show where the holes go or you going to measure and start drilling??

I have an old door that has the holes. I will make a template off of it for a starting point. The bed and cab already have the holes. I just need to drill the doors and fenders.

Thanks, the little things can really make you feel that your not making any progress. ;)

Drove it again today, but it wasn't warmed all the way up. It did run better. I feel like if I stomped on it, it would have back fired thru the carb. No proof to that. The total advance with vac adv disc is 36* with about 14* base and 56* total with everything hooked up.

I took some better pics today so I can send to Mar-k, for customer rides. i found one that turned out really nice. EDIT: It looks better in a bigger pic.

I thought I heard you terrorizing the neighborhood today.

The truck looks good with the fenders mounted. Keep up the good work.;)

TOTM, TOTY, Mar-K, truck publications etc. etc........ I'm sure all your hard work will pay off for you in the future.

Alan,
I first read Ronnie’s build seeing he is from my home town and soon discovered I have been to his shop while it was being built. That got me interested in your build so I have spent much time over the last 3 weeks reading about the journey with your truck. While it has had its ups and downs it has given us all a window into your life and your build, it has also put into perspective what it takes to truly build a show quality truck. I am just beginning my build and you have made me back up and really think this build through. I do not have the resources that you have at my disposal. I have most of the tools at home and most of the skills but for sure time money and resources will drag my build out even longer than yours. So I am reevaluating my options, thanks for the window into your build and the insight into planning a realistic build for myself. I pass through north GA every other week heading back to work in Lexington KY and would love to drop by and see your work in person. I am really enjoying this web site and will try to make the next event to meet some of the members, keep up the great work and maybe we will meet soon.

When it comes up, there is no : after the http. If you put that in it works, so you may need to remake the link, or add the : into it there.

Truck is looking GREAT Alan!! Keep up the good work! :metal:

Thanks, I'm trying to hold it together. I'm on the home stretch.

I contacted several insurance companies and have decided to go thru AAA. To me it's the best deal for me. To cover 60K agreed price for a year is $431. I'm with progressive now and AAA can rewrite my daily drivers with progressive and I can save $240/yr.

Alan, have your tried USAA insurance? They are stickly for veterans and their families. I have them for all my auto and home insurance and I have had a great experience with them. They are also affiliated with Progressive.

Anyway, great looking truck. Can't wait to see it complete.

No I didn't, I checked with them a year ago and they weren't the cheapest.

Hagerty was $710/yr

No, I wanted a slick TG.

I finally got it registered and the 1965 tag can be put on it.

I also got a quote for a full exhaust system with Flow master 2 chambers and 2 1/2" $475-500. I don't think so. i will keep shopping.

hey Alan, that's who my wife got mine through...she works in insurance, and when we lived in FL that was who they went through for antiques at her workplace...you could check direct with them or see if an agency nearby is affiliated....if you haven't settled on anything yet, it can't hurt to check

57truckguy 03-04-2012 01:20 AM

Re: Project Vitamin C-10

Seems awfully high for your vehicle... Mine is stored about 7 months a year, you know rain, snow, ice, salt, weather stripping not installed... LOL I've owned her for 15 years and never has she seen a drop of rain. and knowing the PO I know he never got her wet either.. Then she was stored in a garage for 20 some years before that.. Last titled date for her was in the early 60's..according to the PO. I've only got to sort out some small issues and she could be a DD.. NOT...

Re: Project Vitamin C-10

Doess the AAA price allow you to drive whenever you want or are there restrictions? I know Haggerty requires it to be mainly show use...if you got into a fender bender in a Home Depot parking lot you'd have a chance they'd deny the claim...

Are you referring to exhaust or insurance?

Can't be used as a daily driver. I'm allowed 6000 miles a year. That wasn't my choice. It goes from 1000/yr to 6000/yr. They said I can't drive it to work. I told her I need to drive it to work to finish it and it will stay there a week or two. She sent me a form that I fill out and fax to them stating it will be stored somewhere else for a couple weeks instead of my home.

It figures, I'm able to work on my hood some and the next day we get covered up. That's a good thing at least pay check wise.

I should be around Sunday afternoon. Hope your not disappointed when you see it in person. ;)
