Sounds like a nice build Brownsville, like the being able to drive it part, not much for shiny paint on my end. Good thought on the rake too.

Paint is Graphite Mica Metallic 38R from Mazda. SBC, 2004R tranny, a/c, dvd nav, cruise, ps, pb, 18s frt & 20s in rear, all fenders and boards widened 2 inches, grill center removed, LED everywhere, Dakota Guages All sitting on a c10 chassis, would never do that again... Lovin all you trucks. Keep em comming! |
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Truck looks so good, so why not the c10 chassis again.

Second, rigidity. Unless you're gonna box it all. I have extra support cross bracing and it still twists easily. I can see it in the box when I jack up a corner. Finally, the frame of the c10 has a drastic dip for the cabs, in 1984 anyway, then you have to pick your poison, to change it so its all on the same plane, or mount the cab in the dip and fab the front and rear body panels to accept the higher frame. In the end, I welded the center section of the 54 with the cab mounts into the center of the 84 frame. It was a pain. Thinking the s10 would have been the way to go. |
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
A lot more of a challenge than I thought, well you sure outdid yourself, nice job, but can see why it may be easier with the S truck chassis, a lot sure use them.

Lower50's, it's a 1950 GMC FC453 3 ton truck with 270 ci inline 6 with "H" head, bigger ports and valves, and Clark 5 speed manual, no overdrive. Runs great on GM TBI fuel injection. Will do 60 on flat ground. LOL.

Cool truck, I don't see very many fleet trucks out there. I like how GmC used the Chevy dash and no frills mesh grille. What plans does your son have for this truck? Restore? |
