Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Hey Donkeypunch...Come on by and check it out (heck, you can help with my 'to do' list - JK) You live right next door as far as Waddell goes. At least I'll know where to look for parts if I need them!

Hey joe231, do those tires rub at all? and what kinda gas mileage are you getting on yours, its a 6.2l diesel right? was there a difference in gas mileage switching to the 285s. I appreciate all the help. |

I put these wheels and tires on shortly after I got the truck. It had 235/85/16's on it which are close to the same height as the 285/75/16's (the 285's are only an inch taller overall) Yeah it's a 6.2 with 4L80E overdrive trans. I haven't checked mileage (my trip odometer doesn't work), I'd guess upper teens-lower 20's. I'll go take pics of my springs now... Edit: pics http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...1/58c658e7.jpg http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...1/b40af223.jpg http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...1/1a8ffe28.jpg It does have 4 leafs. My K20 Burb only has 2 leafs. As you can see there is lots of room in the front fender. The tire isn't totally straight in that picture... Posted via Mobile Device |

Lol I do what I can :) One stabilizer is factory, one is an aftermarket add on. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Joe231, I would say your right about not having any lift. Those springs still have negative arch.
Jpalmer81, I didn't realize you are deployed I'll get pics of those emblems. I'll send them no cost to you if you want them. Thanks for your service !! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
It's raining out this morning but I'll try and catch a dry spell for the pics. It looks like the inside of the 3's was collor matched with the paint, but it's almost all wore off, I think it would come off with some solvent.
I always try to help out the troops when I can.... I was deployed to Helmand province in afganistan 2009-2010. We exchanged small arms and took rockets nearly daily. My government repaid me by denying me, my combat medals and then diagnosed me with PTSD and gave me and administrative separation. Because I was no longer usefull to them in a combat situation (from the PTSD) At the least it should have been medical or honorable Discharge. I make it my personal mission to try and make up our governments short coming any time I can Posted via Mobile Device |

My buddy and I (Trevman) both aquired dually's a few months ago. Both of us have small shops and did our restores there. Trev has a few pieces to put together yet but the bulk work is complete. These trucks are like 2 restorations in 1, there is a lot of square footage for 1 guy to prep, sand, fill, fix, paint etc etc etc, all crew owners will understand... I have some other posts describing what is in the 79, which Trev dubbed the 'sex machine'. In his 1988 self titled 'Wyld Stallion' is a TBI 3fiddy, 4.10 gearz, Dana 70 rear, 4 speed, air and crooze. The pair are now ready to ride!

-12 inch superlift springs upfront with an ez inch and 10 degree shim from DIY4X and also 7.5 inch extended shackles on the rear of the front springs. Front spring and upper hangers are modified to accept 5/8 grease-able bolts with poly bushings. -The rear has stock 1 ton leaf packs, it has a shackle flip, inch correction plate (moves the eyes back to the correct spot for axle location) and 5.5 inch pro comp blocks. just wanted to keep some kind of payload because i do some towing. i'll have pics of everything on tuesday when i make it back to the shop -Steering components: -consist of a rebuilt, drilled and tapped for hydro assist, 2wd steering box. -hogged out power steering pump:lol: for more flow to ram assist. -8x1.5 inch hydraulic ram for hydro assist. -4 inch drop pitman arm -1.5 inch dom tubing for center link and crossover bar, 3/4 greaseable heim joint. - Springless dana 60 arms(caps) tapered and drilled for centerlink. had to use a 2.5 inch spacer on both sides to clear the 12 inch springs and ez inch. im sure theres more but i'll update ya guys on tuesday esp with more pics!:metal: |

A few pics of my truck before, during and after. Now just need to add the CARR Super Hoops and window tinting and the flatbed, then off to another year of giving balloon rides to pay for it!

This is my truck. found this site while looking for crewcab shortbed pics. looks like my truck got here two years before me! Its a 88 v30 that I shortened the bed and frame on 28 inches. it runs a cab and chassis rear, and d60 front with a spacer that comes off and goes on the rear so it can be single or dual wheel. I have a 95 cummins in it with a nv4500 and 205. I have several sets of the p30 rims, but haven't run them on the truck in a year or two. heres some more pics. first is with the wheels painted dark. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...l/P1010345.jpg and heres a single wheel pic. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...l/P1000951.jpg its current status is wrecked, and going in my shop this coming week to get rebuilt. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...t/P1030040.jpg I have a new 2wd frame that I'm gonna swap it onto, and cut it down for a standard shortbed this time. nothing wrong with the cab or bed, but I want to change it up while I have it all apart. no idea what I'm going to do with the shortened bed once I take it off. wheel spacing is all wrong for a trailer! heres a link to the original build. http://www.wheelindixie.com/forums/s...ect-TowMissile Hope its alright to link to another website. |
