All I can think of is "go granny go granny gogrannygo". Lyrics from a Beach Boys tune or somebody from that time period.

So it's what you did today not on your truck, but on someone else's car... tomorrow too . That's a good friend. I'm way slowed down on my truck play these days. On my own that is. I enjoy helping others just to be involved with what I like to do. It's nice to see things come together even when it's not yours.

Rain rain rain all day. I didn't have things I needed to get things done that were only inside. I did break out more concrete around the drain pipe in my 1st floor shower so I can set the drain lower before starting tile work. It was raining heavy, so couldn't mix up the thin set outside. Just getting into this shower job that has been sitting many years. A winter project I didn't get to. Moving forward on it now

I love helping people out, your right on tim about being involved with things you like to do, and be able to help make things happen for others.i spent 3 years worth of weekends on and off rebuilding my kitchen, and painting the house inside and out, and swore I would make this a year for my truck stuff, and just do upkeep and maintenance on the house this year.the guy who owns the firebird, has been a friend of mine for problably close to 30 years now, and this is the second first generation firebird I have helped him with, super cool guy, and would fit right in with the crew here, except he is kinda anti computer:lol:...today was spent putting in a new shelf for my wife in the utility room , shes been bugging me for awhile about it... and guess what... more body work...I put in new cab corners, and rocker panels on my youngest sons 76 c10, I will try and get them finished tomorrow, the weather was great today, to do this work outside, no mess to clean up afterward, in my garage:lol:

Today I went out and hit the swap meets and a flea market. Got some good stuff Then had half a good breakfast of Huevos Ranchero's with my lovely wife. A very nice day.:)...At first.

I say half a good breakfast because my damn front tooth fell out of my mouth right into my eggs. :dohh:

I really didn't feel like finishing my breakfast after that. It was kind of a buzz kill.

I was eating sunny side up eggs, probably the softest food on the planet and my stupid tooth just fell out. If I didn't look bad enough before? Now I've got a missing tooth. Very attractive.

The good news is that I have good dental insurance, and I can whistle really loud now.

I guess my tooth got sick of listening to my big mouth and committed suicide.

I have one that keeps doing that. I just glue it back in. The last time it happened I was eating some of my wife's home made peanut brittle..... :(

I can't believe I haven't swallowed it yet. It might be a little hard to glue it back in if that happened.... If I could even find it..... :uhmk:... :)

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I had an implant for a molar that got loose. It would pick up and rotate just enough that when I bit down it was too high. An awful feeling, sometimes it hurt. I had to be real conscious of it. Then it came loose, as in all the way out. So I'd just pop it out to eat and pop it back in when done. Then I was eating somewhere I felt it was bad manners to eat with a tooth next to my plate, so I left it in. I really should have gotten that fixed by then. This time it popped up while chewing and it broke the molar above it. Great!

Years later the opposite molar was in bad shape and the dentist wanted to pull it. I asked about getting an implant and he said, "Oh, you don't need that last molar. You'll be able to eat just fine". I told him a prior dentist had put one on the other side and he said that was a waste, "I'd never put an implant there". So, double great!! Broke a good tooth with a failed implant that never should have been put in. I have other stories about the same dentist. That guy sucked!

Mine split up into pieces. I was embarrassed so I wrapped it up in a tortilla with refried beans and acted like nothing happened. Not sure how that worked. I had no front tooth anymore.

It's Sunday. I'm going to call the dentist tomorrow. I am so terrified of the dentist. That's why my teeth got this bad. I've got the insurance, but you have to hog tie me to get me to go.

I guess that I just have to bite the bullet with my remaining teeth before I sneeze and they go flying out of my mouth.

Installed a new dishwasher. Got a really nice LG for cost at Lowes. Blowing out last years models. Its super quiet and does a great job cleaning and drying the dishes ... Love it.

I bought a Frigidaire last year that a customer returned because they said it leaked. We have a repair company at work that goes through them and they said they couldnt find any problems. I got it for super cheap. Man that was the suckiest dishwasher Ive ever had ... but it didnt leak haha, I just hated it.

I paid my taxes. Very disappointing. I thought they would be less. Wrong! I got hammered for $107,000. I made a lot of money in the stock market this year and the government took a big chunk of it. I'm just glad that I didn't blow the money and could pay them off.

It's funny. I was the one that invested. I took the risk. I could have lost. But I didn't and now they just take my money. They didn't do anything.

You're supposed to plow it back in. I've managed to not dig into my retirement IRA and it's up 70% since I retired 6.5 years ago. Of course, from $1 to $1.70 is only enough to buy some bubble gum. My wife retired last Friday, and the house is now paid off, so my piddly stipend from my old employer, my SS and my wife's SS should cover the bills.

What I did was price out a new table saw. I was told previously that the store people would assemble it, so I went up to pay for it, but the new owners don't assemble things. I'm fine with that, but if I had known that, I would have driven my truck up. Turns out the fork lift tines aren't long enough to get past the back lift flap, anyway. I'm taking my son's new(-ish) Canyon up to get the saw tomorrow. Fork lift in, and either 2 X 6 planks for a ramp that I will then use to make a new gate to replace one that's old and decrepit, or my engine hoist. 500 pound cabinet saw, not something I can even lift half of, anymore.

If you lose big this year will they cut you a check? :uhmk:

Heck no. :waah:

I just got lucky on that stock. I got it low and it went nuts. I wanted to try something since my retirement funds don't pay jack squat. Then it bit me in my pretty rear end. I still made more than my lame retirement ever made me even after getting fleeced by the tax man. But it stung. That's the biggest bill I've ever paid in my life and I'm pretty old. Now I know why the big boys get in trouble dodging taxes. The tax man has no mercy.

That's what I get for trying to make a few extra bucks.

Swore I wasn’t going to get more firewood . But when a friend calls and says he’s clearing 4 acres on his property(160 acres)for a pavilion and do I want wood . Todays felling . That’s about 10% of what’s coming down . Some of it I’ll get milled but most is just firewood most of the wood is hickory or oak

Brought home the aforementioned table saw, and yes, my one son and I managed to lift it up onto the mobility stand. We're going to be feeling it tomorrow, though. It's only 400 pounds for the base unit, after the two 50-pound cast iron wings were out of the box. Piece of cake.

Yeah, I have enough trouble just lifting myself out of bed.

When my wife and I went to the flea market they were selling some old farm implements. She thought that they would make cool yard art. I agreed. Then the girl selling them said that they were REALLY heavy.

Okay... :buh: I'm not lifting that. The yard looks fine as is.
