To make my truck look closer to yours..:metal::metal:

I want it to look like a truck like I would have seen or built in the late 70's. The truck drives pretty good but stopping and handling suck with drums and stuff. I am not cutting this truck as much as I want to have my front bumper touch earth, its not gonna happen.

Top priorities are:

Front disc brakes, drop spimdles, new suspension and lowering springs. I have static dropped mini trucks before and I really wanted to go with bags but it is just not in my budget. Probably ECE 4.5/6 drop and brake kit from them. I used this truck as a daily driver for most of the past two years and driving in heavy traffic with idiots puckers my butt some days. Gotta get better brakes.

I need a new bed floor, I wripped the old one out a few days ago. Probably going with a kit from one of the vendors.

The seat was recovered probably 10 years ago with red velour and black vinyl. The red is now pink, yuck. Gonna be red and creme tuck and roll. Nice guy down the street that works on a lot of classics and show trucks.

Other than that just a few little things, she runs great and everything else works.

^^^^

Are you wanting fresh bedwood or would you consider some "weathered" bedwood? I still have the red oak I pulled out of mine during the resto. It's still in pretty good shape, but I replaced with fresh ash.

Are you keeping the rallies or do you plan to change wheels?

I would entertain the idea of weathered. My last ride I built was a 68 Camaro SS full frame off pro touring, 50K car. Once It was completed It was too nice to daily drive and she just sat in my garage until I was forced to sell her a few years later.

I am not interested in doing that with this, don't have the money now either. Eventually I would like to switch it all over to 5 lugs and run 17/18 Coys. How much and can you send me some pics? What a pain in the ass to ship wood.

Not much to it (yet) but here's my new 69 project. I just bought this truck pretty much like you see it. It had a new 69-72 front end on it but I am changing it over to 68. (Just my personal preference, nothing against the 69-72 front end)

This truck is a frame off project a guy started a couple years ago and lost interest. The cab is 100% rust free, new mounts, corners, rockers, etc. they did a great job on the replacement work too. The frame has been blasted and cleaned up / painted nicely. The gas tank relocated, all new fuel lines, 73-87's front end swap for discs. Really a nice old truck and a great start for something I plan to build to keep. All the hard work is done. I'm probably going back Hugger Orange with a white top. It will have a 69 date coded 396/350 (has been masaged a little :burnout:) I will probably drop it with some sort of Coys or Intros as the money will allow. I want to get it back on the road first. I'll post more pics as it progresses. i'm going to drop my engine and trans in next weekend.

New member here, just want to show off my "new" '72 C10 Custom Deluxe.
Been a Texas truck for 39 years, just came off the transporter last night.
First job is put a choke cable on the carb. It took quite a few cranks to start and 15 minutes to warm before it wouldn't stall with a little gas when we got it off the carrier last night here in Massachusetts where it was 3 degrees.

dcasalena and custom1970,
Welcome. Both of you have nice rides. Been to the Stuart, Hutchinson Island, and Port St. Lucie areas a couple of times - very nice areas of FLA.

Yes, been to those areas as well and Stuart is particularly nice. I have a friend in Port St. Lucie who has a fine '32 Ford Rod.
I also have a '66 F-100. Find photos attached...

Stuart is on the east coast of florida, bout 30 min. north of west palm beach. I think the show was at Moroso, which has since changed to Palm Beach Motor Sports. I also own a Pontiac (which i was also showing) , that's why there's so many in the back ground...

I know Ford is a bad word but couldn't pass it up when I found it. It has 33,000 original miles and an original 352 cu. in. motor.
I have 2 Chevy trucks, one a '67 short stepside and the other is a C20 fleetside. Also have a '72 GMC one ton dump truck and here it is in a parade last summer.
