Fresca makes good mix! I thought I was the only one who did that. I don't want the caffeine in coke in the evening, and caffeine free diet coke is hard to find - and only good for mix!

i was on a big mission yesterday,covered alot of ground and driving through a big industrial park near Halifax,NS came across this sharp 64 Impala in 4:30 traffic.heading home i guess.cool old car.

Cool scoop. Makes the ice cream taste better* :cool:. I just had myself a hand-dipped cone of Hershey's ice cream from an ice cream parlor last Saturday after a bike ride on the C&O Canal.

* For me, at least. I prefer vintage items in my kitchen.

I made some carpenter bee traps, put them up, and they really do work. So I decided to make a bunch up and offer for sale to help others with infestation and make a couple bucks. I'm replacing windows on this 1890s house and the homeowner snatched up a dozen when he found out I was selling them. On this one wall there are 13 spots like shown in my picture. WTH is this? I know it's from the bees, but never saw this mess before. Each spot is lined up with a bee hole in the back side of the fascia board

a crazy day here today,look out the kitchen window first thing this morning and Yogi Bear in out across my field,then pouring rain then sun,thunder and lightning,more rain,more sun then a big ole rainbow and a nice evening.the old timers always say,don't like the weather?just wait a minute.

Last night at a sheriff k-9 fundraiser, my raffle ticket got pulled and I won this Ruger American .308. Guess I can’t say I never win any more! I’m stoked, I’ve been needing something for elk, since my 25-06 isn’t quite up to that…

Something for the "Made In America" thread! Congratulations. It was a set of right, left, and straight aircraft snips that broke my "never win anything" losing streak. Oh well, I've used them a lot since. So still winnin' :cool:

Yes it does. Like nothing else! I came close to stepping on one rushing back to my truck for a tool trying to finish up work for the day. That rattler wanted to end my day earlier. It was laying across a RR tie step in the last sun of the day. It's a sharp right from the path onto the step. It saw me coming before I saw it. almost there it struck at me but I was out of range. That mouth was wide open and those fangs were exactly 1.247" long! I started really taking my time when walking that path.

The one that was working it's way into my sister's garage in Taos I killed with a maddox. It was close and only thing I saw to use. I chopped it's head off from behind. Adrenaline city! I skun it, tanned the skin, made nuggets, and my sister saved the rattle. She was going to make me a belt and necklace but passed away before that happened.

Here is a picture of me in 1971 holding 2 live rattlesnakes. The only problem is they don't get very big in Iowa. The second and third pictures are of a 4 foot one my brother brought me from Northwestern Alabama.

The one in your right hand is about the size I encountered in my tales. I've seen a garter snake twice in the past week here. Made me jump both times. No, didn't scream like a schoolgirl but I sure did get startled. SNAKE!!!! comes first, harmless comes a bit after :cool:

I saw a pretty good sized garter snake in my yard which is just fine with me. But that was about a month ago and I haven't seen him since. He might still be around because I have no mice in my barn.

I caught them as a kid, but now I shoot and there's not much to take a pic of. I have experienced two bites, thank goodness they were dry bites. NOT PLEASANT!!!!!!

I run the Prairie Spirit Rail Trail about 6 days a week year round. I start seeing snakes sometime in May. I see a lot of massasauga snakes,at least that’s what I think they are. They’re not very big for a rattlesnake but, running up on one stretched out like a stick always increases my heart rate. The small ones look like twigs. So this time of year every stick on the trail looks like a snake. I’ve seen a few copperheads over the last few years too. I much prefer seeing deer,rabbit,squirrels and turtles.

On the news just last week they said a rattlesnake bite "could" cost you $153,000, and you might survive.

This winter in Englewood fl were i live in the winter there was a big corral snake on the bike path halfway across scared the sh t out of me but what a beautiful snake

Back in the late 60s I was mowing yards and walked up on a corral snake in a hedge bush. Shook me up so I looked it up in the encyclopedia to be sure what it was. Encyclopedia, remember those? Corral snakes are not common to my part of the country but there was one.

One reason I take my morning trail walk at first light is to beat the heat. Also, most of the rattlers are still napping. Or at least moving more slowly.
