Thanks, it's not bad for a quick rattle can job. It will buy me some time.

I forgot my camera today, believe it or not. I had to use my phone. Shannon and I made it to the car show. There were about 100 participants. County Line Baptist put the show on and did a very nice job. It was very well organized. I got a top 35 trophy. I'm happy with the award, but someone right behind me in about a 2005 Nissan Titan won also. It was nothing special. Their classes weren't the best. I don't know where I ranked in the 35 since they went numericaly by car numbers. I need to be thankful and not criticise the classes. Some people went away with nothing.

Congrats on the award. I dislike loosing to a store bought vehicle... At least you got to enjoy your truck now instead of having to sand, prime, curse repeat...

Thanks! It is disheartening to be classified with store bought trucks.

I went to a benefit car show this past Saturday for a teenager with brain cancer, there weren't many awards given out. I wasn't expecting one when I went, just wanted to support the cause. I plan on going to another this weekend depending on the weather.

I hung the headlight mounting panel tonight and dropped 2 bolts in the bumper. The headlights work hi/low. I figured out I have 2 pins crossed in the speedo pod. When I dim the head lights the gauge lights lite up and the headlight indicator comes on when the lights are turned on. oops. Minor fix. The headlights are bright as heck.

I got an original bumper to fit, but this repop doesn't. It mainly has to do with the right rail where it was hit. A little work at the bolt should go right in.

The upper radiator hose tbe is powder coated and installed. Just need a couple more clamps. Shannon ordered me a billet radiator cap and tested it to make sure it fit.

If you notice next to the water neck is the temp sensor for the fan relay. I have to pick up ignition power. I really don't want to run a wire to the switch. I thought about tapping into the alt. if possible of the distributor ign feed. I could also come off of the choke. I can't fit another wire into the tubes along the valve covers. Ideas??

It's off a 1989 S-10, I got it off eBay for about $150 if I remember correctly.

Thanks, it's close to being done. Still have some things to do. Took a break from it. I started planning the AC and have a list of stuff to do to call it complete.

My wife and daughters put together a story book for me to have at shows. Thanks y'all very much.

It's pretty much a scrap book. It's a timeline of pics from start to finish. The book is still a work in progress just like the truck.

Thanks Heath.

A coworker had a 600 eldebrock that ran really good on a 350. I figured what the heck lets see what it does on mine. It might have been a little better as far as low end power, but not enough to matter. So, i will put the 750 back on and adjust on it. I'll recheck the timing and advance even tho I have checked it a dozen times.

This engine should just blow the tires off the truck. Very embarassing.

Specs: 383, TCI 350 with a 2400 stall, 3.42 posi.

Base timing 16*, mechanical 33* and vac adv all in at 2400 rpm and 52* total advance.

Replaced the plugs with the correct heat range R45TS, gapped to .045", bumped timing to 18* base and jetted the primaries up one step. Also adjusted the acclerator pump up a notch to get rid of the bog off idle.

;) I beat Shannon to it. Sorry neighbor.

We had our North Georgia Group "Chewin' the Fat" get together today. It's the longest journey for the truck so far, about 22 miles one way. The temp gauge likes to hang on the high side, but once i got home and put a lazer temp gauge on the radiator hoses one read 195 and the other was 160.

I did stop once and just punched the gas and she broke loose really easy. ;)

Wishing I did an overdrive tranny.

Thanks to those that showed up today. Meet some new faces as well as old and talked trucks. :metal:

Thanks, it's been a slow go lately. I've had my eye on the steering wheel for a while. Waiting on the funds.
