Be sure and use some copper anti seize compound on that SS hardware. |

Yep, it looks like she fits.........just don't get too engrossed in machining something and forget about that step over to the right :)

Copper is the high heat stuff.
PS... I want a mill like that. So useful. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
You are kidding me! Around here a Bridgeport like that would go for about 10X that. A wore out Bridgeport would still be $2K+.

Re: PO has me PO'd
[QUOTE=jaros44sr;7724548]Thanks Tom for setting me straight. Machinery is pretty cheap around here, I only paid 400 for this one, even came with a electric cross feed and vice. It's 3 phase, so I have to change the motor. there is a bearing company that wants me to key shafts for them, so I will have work this winter
What voltage is your motor? If it's 208, keep the 3 phase and use a variable frequency drive(VFD). I run a few of my machines this way and now prefer small 3 phase motors over single phase because I can make them variable speed. Best part is that a VFD is relatively cheap to buy. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Dan, spent a little more time searching, and came up with a VFD for the Bridgeport, much better than the noisy rotary drive. Thanks for getting me back on track
