Hate to be the only one to mention anything negative on this thread, they are great fitting seals, but has anybody tried cutting that unnecessary inner flap off?

For what its worth. I tried several different gaskets and the Honda gasket was the best fit for me. Left it in the sun for a bit and it snapped into place perfectly. I put the sharp corner in the lower front and it looks and fits great. The other gaskets made for this truck made my doors too difficult to close. The Honda rubber seemed a bit more collapsible. I did not trim the inner lip as it provides a buffer/pocket for my custom lower vent panels.

I agree, they collapse and let the doors close the best I’ve tried. Recently installed the Precision press on seals and they are nicely made but the Honda seals close easier. I don’t like that inner flap though, maybe because mine are from the auto wrecker they stick out more than new seals.

I've been checking the new online inventory at my local Pull-a-Part salvage yard for the last 6 months, waiting for 2006-2009 Honda Civic Coupe, hoping to get a set of door weather striping.
Finally a Civic coupe came in.

I shot down there, and scooped up a set of the push on door rubbers, in nice condition, for $10.00 + 60 cents tax.

I'm happy about that.

I got a better price on a gray set. The seal is still black rubber but the extended lip is Atlas Gray. Part #72355-SVA-A01ZB left and #72315-SVA-A01ZB right. Goes nice with my silver interior. Takes a firm push to close but I don't have any glass in yet so the door is pretty light.

If any of you purists do not want to fill in the short pieces at the bottom, I have had good luck with Steel Rubber Products on my 53 Chev truck, they make a kit for these trucks, their rubber is much better that the door slamming chinese stuff you get from the major resto sellers, but alas it is $90 for the pair and it needs to be glued.

Just to clarify, these seals are one piece and are the perfect length for 64-66 without needing any cutting or piece added.

That is correct. I don’t have a picture, but I just temporarily installed mine in my ‘65 in a matter of a couple minutes.

Thanks for the info on the Honda door seals. It saved me from searching for it. I have spent many hours adjusting the door gaps and I believe 2 people on this job would have been much easier. I've got them real close for the first attempt. The truck has not been painted yet so I'm going to get the seals on temporarily and the striker, make any adjustments, then drill and pin the door position before removing the doors for paint.

So, these will not fit a 63, without cutting?

The 60-63 opening is bigger than the 64-66 so the Honda seals come up short. I think you could buy 3 seals and cut one up to fill the gaps

I put them on my 63 and love them. And yes I bought three. Cut a piece for each door to fill in the gap. cut about 1/8 inch or so bigger so it squeezes together nice enough not to notice the seam.

Ok..Digging up and old thread...so without reading 11 pages of posts...Does anyone know if these seals are still available for purchase? and if i go to the scrap yard or order...what year/model civic am i looking for? Im thinking 06-09 civic, but does it matter if a 2 door or 4?

I’d stick with new. Wrecking yard could be 15ish years old. Check online or any Honda dealer. Must be for a coupe. These are by far the best gaskets I’ve used. They are still on the truck, allow my doors to close properly, we’ll worth the money, and require no adhesive. Not sure of price now, but when I purchased them, the price was comparable to the C10 specific aftermarket’s.

I went with the auto wrecker and I think it was like $4 or something on a 1/2 price day. Plenty fine for my junker and a lot better than the bought foam stuff that I threw in the trash. I don't think they made custom door seals for our trucks at that time.

So this thread was started before companies were making non glue rubber gaskets. You’ve been able to buy good quality non glue rubber gaskets from like Steele that are meant for these trucks.

I don't know about the Steele gaskets, but I bought the Civic Gaskets from Amazon for $44.54 each.

They fit like a glove, and work perfectly

Hats off to Rob Fisher (the OP) for letting the world know about this discovery.

If I may be bold enough to add my own discovery. The 2010 Honda ACCORD coupe door seals are also the correct size. I bought a pair from the local salvage yard for $16 for the set. They are the perfect size for my 1965 C10 doors . . . and . . . there is no “corner” in the 2010 Honda Accord coupe gasket. Here’s a video of what I did to install them in my 1963 cab. I hope this helps someone. https://youtu.be/61p_8To5Ygc

My drivers door is hard to close on my 66. Read the entire thread and decided to buy new Honda seals. I think my old (new) ones were Precision. I found no change and ended up reinstalling my old ones.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

I bought used passenger-side Civic ones from the junkyard for my '61, cut off the "corner" and added an extention section under the sill plate. I did look at a lot of other seals while I was at the wreckers, but the Civic ones are quite thin, which is what makes them work.

The doors close MUCH better than with the Precision seals I had bought, but I don't like the rubber edging of the Honda seals.

I'm going to try and slice off the outer inner "grip" of the Precision seals to help them lay closer to the door flange and see if that helps.

I hated the look of the Honda seals too. They hit the bin quickly. I found the press-on Precision seals to be tight but they broke in quickly and now my door closes nice and tight but you don’t have to slam it.

Couple spots that were really tight in the Precision seal I sliced the backside of the O part of the seal so it lays flatter. If that makes sense??

Please explain more. I put my Precision ones back in but have to slam.
