Time for a cruise! I like how your seat came out. Can’t wait to see it with the door panels. Fabulous looking truck.

Thanks Guys. I did take a short drive up and down the driveway a couple of times and seems to drive ok except it seems to ride a little harsh. Now I have to get it aligned and take a longer road test. One thing I did notice it definitely
is quick without much throttle. Steve

Re: 57 Fleetside C4 build

I put about 10 miles on the truck after getting the alignment done. My first observations are the ride is a little harsh, the braking power could be more positive but drivable and the truck is pretty fast and is loud by what one of my neighbors told me. Still waiting on the door panels and sun visors. I am going to look at the coil overs to see if I can soften them. I am happy with everything, but it does not drive like one of my 442's. Still getting use to everything and these are pretty small inside. Steve

Those first miles are so intense. You hear every little noise. Congratulations on your first cruise. Now to start working out the bugs. Enjoy it!

Took the wife for a second ride today to a local park and took a few pictures. Getting more comfortable driving it. It is cozy in this cab. Waiting on a few more interior pieces and then will drive it some more. Steve

Thank You. I did take the truck to a local show that had around 275 cars and ended up getting best of show. Steve

Hey Steve, was looking back through your thread at the exhaust and noticed you used clamps on all your stainless. I'm currently planning mine and want to do similar, with H pipe and cut-outs. Did you get a kit, or all separate components? Any insight/info appreciated.

Thanks, Jim

I purchased a stainless kit on e-bay with different turns and straight pipe. I used the stepped band clamps so I could take it apart if I wanted. Steve

Just wondering if you have tried putting the 15 inch wheels on to see if it would ride better? 20s seem to ride hard.

I have not driven it with the 15's on it. It looks so much better with the 20's to me. It makes sense that less sidewall would ride harder. It seems to be less harsh the more I drive it but still not smooth and that may be the way it is. When I was working for Cadillac I would have customers put 24's or bigger on there escalade and wonder why it rode hard. Steve

I like the 20s look on your truck too like you do. I'm worried about the ride on mine is why I'm asking. I haven't bought wheels yet. Possibly your suspension is not broken in yet and it will get better over time.
