Thank you guys. Although it is not as far as I expected for the money. And it has a lot of firming issues she just about made me cry when I walked in and saw the truck all together, looking like a sweet as hell. Due to issues the front bumper mod will be kept, it's going to need a lot of TLC there and the rear will receive a custom roll pan. The fabricators aprentice has been doing most of the work and he's pretty stoked to be doing it. His opinion was to cut out the rear bumper and do a roll pan to save some money on time.

What I saw when I walked in

This picture I think says it all

The part you can't see is the inner splash guards in the rear wheel wells.

Some more work has been done on the bed. Brackets and mounting pads fixed with 1 inch rubber body mounts to level it out with the cab.

Soo anyone want to buy a roller?

Looking to sell this project off. It will have 4 parts , roller, wheels, engine, tranny. I need to sell the roller first. If anyone is interested on me. I'm willing to go cheep. I can't continue spending money . It's so close but still too far away for me. Even if I finished it I would be so pissed off at the sight of it that I would probably never drive it.

Truck looks good man. Sucks to see you not finish it but I understand how you must feel. Good luck with it.

It's not that I dislike how it looks. Right now I need to stop paying to have it worked on. i doubt that I could finish the body work and then there is time. I'm looking at changing jobs after 23 years to make life easier and enjoy it a little more. Unfortunately this truck had more problems to be corrected than the shop and I had thought. If I find a buyer great I'll buy a reasonably priced muscle car that I can enjoy. And someone will get a whole lot of money peri vested into a badass truck.

I'm open to offers if anyone is interested. Not looking for a lot

Now that is just sad, sell it for cheap won't get you much of a muscle car, just one that needs work...like the truck.:banghead:

Here may be a better answer. When I went to shop 2 I figured a budget of 40k with paint. I would assemble truck
I'm at 28k and the new estimate is still 40k to get paint. Then there are parts and other items I'm short. Exhaust, powder coat the frame.
In reality the first shop screwed it up so badly after taking me for everything that I want to stop the river of cash flowing out.
And then there are person issues going on that will not allow the funds or time for it to play out another 40k to paint.
Yes so I have to make due with a 30k camaro or Chevelle but it's only going to cost me what little I have saved. It will still be way cheaper than continuing.

I hope this makes sense.

As a side note yes I am sad that such a truck is ending this way. Perhaps someone will pick it up and finish it

It makes sense, always two different sides of a build too plus some like me are totally hands on and can build a complete truck but most in reality can't complete a whole build, the difference is in price when you have to farm it out, makes a huge difference, sure there is someone who would be happy to finish what you have, I know I would jump all over it if you were closer. Good luck you will figure something out..

Totally, I built most of my last car, I'd finish this but I know I could only get up to 2 hours a week. 1 hour might be more realistic. Hey if it doesn't sell I might just do 1 hour a week.

Lately, that's what my 72 has turned into. I had a guy a couple of weeks ago that wanted to trade me a 85% finished 72 Chevelle SS clone, rusty 69 Camaro SS, and cash for the 72. I finally decided that I didn't need 2 more projects and I needed to see it through. But, listening to your perspective, I can respect the need to sell it and move on. I know that has to be a tough call. Good luck with it!

If someone can't pay 35% of what's there I'll be in the same boat. Slow slow slow. At least I could spray a decent coat of paint. The metal work, that sh*t may take some more practice

Just a little update. I have had a couple bites but everyone who was serious disappeared. With certain time issues coming into play some other decisions will need to be made. time to take a look at plans B,C,and D.

Yes it is!
I should just start a new thread if it goes to my garage.

I love your avatar

Re: Torchered

Thank you to all the members here for any support given and following this thread. Today the truck was sold. A biter sweet ending, which I tried to avoid. Every computation and plan was made and thought out but it was useless. It came back to the amount of metal work that needed to be done and the overall price. Then with limited time and the wife (not a fan of welding and grinding in the garage) breathing down my neck. Unfortunately the wife is putting her foot down for a finished driver. I guess I'll try RC planes now.

So for those who have projects "keep your head down and the wrench turning my friends for its a far worse thing to go without".
