Made me a pattern out of 3/16'' plywood for my glass guy to cut me some glass for the rear 1/4..If anyone ever wondered if the forward 1/4 and rear 1/4 glass are the same...Well there NOT..I think the window rubber/gasket is the same but not the glass..

Man that burb is one sweet machine.
Feel lucky you are going with solid windows because re-building the sliders are such a pita. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 66 suburban build
Hey, can you tell us a bit about your brake setup please?
Thanks! |
Re: 66 suburban build
I didn't want to go through the brake horror stories from my last build using a big cam engine (no brakes at idle), so I went to Tallon Hydraulics Inc. and had them build me a hydraboost system (call Butch and he will help you through the selection of the right unit for your application). He uses a new Wildwood master cylinder hooked up to the booster that is driven off the power steering pump rather than the vacuum set ups. I'm using a NASCAR style power steering pump that I had to make custom mounting brackets for but it gives me the insurance of higher PSI needed to run the power steering and brake units. With this type of set up you also get to use a remote reservior for the power steering which is nice when your running out of space on the motor to mount things. As for the brakes - CPP big brake disk set up front and rear. I also used their modular drop spindles. Porterbuilt is suppling the rest of the drop with their "A" arm coil spring front and mild air bag drop rear. Hope to have all the running gear installed this month then on to the body.

Re: 66 suburban build
Got carried away with the description of what I'm doing and forgot to thank Nobby for the great pics and comments on his build. It has given me some great ideas and got me motivated to finish mine.
