Anyways i'm waiting on getting the fuel lines and such.. i don't know if ill get the shifter, looks like he's sell his truck now and gave up on it... its that s10 i put my old 350 in.. all he needs is some intake gaskets... Even if i had a budget id never think about selling my truck.. I'm way to stubourn to give up on something ive been wanting to do since i was 15 16 years old. been an Honor doing this build. im happy i even have it sitting there non running! :metal:

Well everyone i knew the driveshaft wouldnt need any sort of mods like resizing or anything so i stuck the thing in and bolted the rear u joint up. it fits like a glove... now the real problem is, the trans crossmember

Re: 78 silverado stepside her names 'Quicksilver'

Ok tomorrow i will have some parts. maybe grab a used alternator power steering bracket or fuel lines. debating on which...
Also making plans and a idea of how im gonna paint the truck. gonna go with something different... paint it all satin black.. get a natural aluminum spray look alike and get rid of the chrome.. do some air brushing as well in aluminum looks. the wheels will be natural aluminum also.. plan on making it 17X10 wheels in the rear and 17x8 front.. i dont know what kinda tires but i plan on something thats wide. if i ever do the steelies, ill probably paint them. still debating on that.. i have all these ideas, but no $$ to do anything yet... :smoke:
I still havent figured out what im gonna do for the cross member, thats bothering me. hopefully i can buy a weld together one and fab my own to my desires.

Yeah next year, is my intended build deadline so we'll see how that goes, there's a lot of things that are going to play into affect of that plan.

Also got the tires but im scrapping the rims since i have no use for ford rims. The rear end was a trailor but we decided to scrap it since my buddies moving and he said go ahead and grab watcha like. Damn.

well i have a fuel pump for it.. instead of the buick tank i decided to go with an 89 f150 ford EFI frame pump so i can keep the stock tank.. and i dont have to do much for a return line. got the pump from autozone...

Sounds like you've been busy man!! :metal:

On the bed, I would say if it's terribly bad then go for it get a newer one but if it's holding it's end right now just hold off on it.

Oh yea been real busy lol.. working on my uncles used but new to him 94 caprice station wagon with the LT1 350 (second gen small block chevy). took apart his optispark distributor and it was full of oil.. it also over heated, because the fan relays went out.. dont know if its been like this since the owner before had it or what.. but thats coming together. looking to get the alternator for the truck, going to get the larger alternator, CS144 130 amp rather then the simple CS130 100 amp... well lets hope it all works nicely.

Nice!!! You've been really really busy, I would imagine it should work fine with no issues.

Any work on the truck lately? Aside from getting some parts collected?

Dang man, yeah patience is the key trust me i'm preaching that to myself right now

I've been wanting to do a lot of stuff to my truck but money hasn't been there with bills and other stuff so just being patient and having to understand there's going to be ups and downs on a truck build. You'll get it man and when you do it'll make it that much better! :metal:

same boat.. haha watch, both of us will come up with some good results. it sucks. if i dont have parts, i dont work on it. being patient though, and after its running the first goal of the truck will be accomplished. second will be cosmetics and transmissin. since the harness doesnt pin out the same way as the 4L60E, ill have to look at some pin out numbers and rearange some wires.. oh yea, under the hood counts as cosmetics, the things scattered with all sorts of wires from the harness

Yeah I agree under the hood counts as cosmetics, got to look good under there. Yeah man just takes time. Even the little things will help in the long run too.

True. Ive got a plan to make my own shifting lever. haha and cut a whole in the floor board.. this and some additional red carpet to make the shifter box. instead of a column shifter.. gonna love this once i get Bucket seats.
