I've spent way too much time already trying to get these photos uploaded so no, I'm not going to try to correct the orientation. :D

The good thing about that greasy mess is, it's well preserved.

Looks great! I really like when the color is period correct. Beautiful!

Thanks. I had them mix Nissan sunlit sand. Seems to be almost a dead on match.

I tried to make my own “hot tank” using a trash can and a turkey fryer. It worked fairly well considering all i had was Dawn to add to the water. Next time I will try simple green which is what they were using in the video I saw for this. It certainly didn’t boil the paint off but it did get all the gunk out of the inside.

Pretty much got it back together. There is some side to side slop with the gears and spacer on the idler shaft that I posted a question about on the 4x4 forum.

Chasing down vibrations I pulled the rear driveshaft and took it to the machine shop in town. The slip yoke and splines are wore out, he thought it was also too small in diameter and too short by the spline engagement. He built me a new one, not cheap by any means but wow. That’s good work.

Finally got some custom make front brake hoses to get rid of the cobbled up adapters I had. Thank you Les for the referral he was great to deal with.

While I was at it I also took the time to upgrade to a dual reservoir master.

I also changed my mind about tire and wheel combo again. Ordered these cragars from summit and sourced tires locally. Wheels are 8 lug 15x10 Cragar nomad II, tires 35x12.50-15 Hercules Terra Trac

Looking good, how did the drive shaft help your vibration? Did you get your front springs and shackles replaced?

Yes, it made a tremendous improvement.

No, I haven't got to the front springs yet. I've got an old slide in camper I'm trying to get useable for a camping trip next month so it's getting all my attention for now.

Next upgrade power steering to turn those big tires. Did you still have the 7.50 16 tires, was wondering the actual height of those tires compredto new ones you have now.

I sold them fairly quickly much to my surprise. They were ~ 32”.
