Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Do you have any that will allow you to use the parking brake?
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
The Camaro calipers which the brackets in this thread are designed for have a built in e-brake. The D52 caliper brackets can also use a caliper with a built in e-brake. I replied to your email from this morning.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
What rotors work with these brackets? Are these the 93 thru 97 Camaro calipers?
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
The '94-'96 Impala SS/Caprice 9C1 rotors. Yes those are the calipers these brackets are designed for. Every set of brackets comes with a parts list of what you will need including part numbers.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Do these use the rear or front rotors from the caprice/impala?
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Never mind I see that the front is not possible after looking them up

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Those part numbers for the Metric to SAE are on the list of parts that comes with every set of brackets. They are Wetherhead #1442 or Edelmann #27130. BTW I am currently 14 days out on building and shipping orders. I am completely slammed with orders.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I have mine on order and finally had a chance to go to the salvage yard today only to find out the 3 Camaros in the 93-97 year range had drum brakes. I had hoped I could grab a set but no luck. I guess I will just get a reman and be done.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
It will be quite unlikely to find a wrecked Z28 or TA in the average wrecking yard.
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Thanks I have ordered some reman ones.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I’d like to place an order for a set.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
How much difference between the Camaro and the Impala caliper? Want to get a set of these, assuming still making them? Also would these work for newer trucks? I have a 98 Tahoe 2wd.
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I fabricate all of my products everyday. This is one way I attempt to make a living. These will not work on the '88+ 10 bolt.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
How much of a difference is there between those axles? I wouldn't think much, but don't have either of the other ones in front of me...
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
subbed.
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
There is enough of a difference they won't work. The backing plate bolt pattern is completely different, the backing plate register is larger and the brake offset is wider. And then to complicate it even more, there are 10 bolts with the 10" brakes and 10 bolts with the 11" brakes. All of the above are different again. This is why in post #1 of all of my rear disc conversion brackets, the '88-'98 10 bolts are not listed.

Since I first posted I’ve been reading up on it, sounds like a pain to cover all of em

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Due to an increase in the cost of having my parts laser cut, I have been forced to raise my prices. I'm not making any more money, just trying to stay in business with these increases in my costs. Thanks for understanding.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Found a fantastic deal on a set of calipers that are complete with bracket and dampner on amazon. Under 100 dollars at time I am posting. I ordered my set and they look great.

Thanks for posting that link to those calipers, that is a good deal!

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I got around to installing my brackets last night. The parts fit great. Has anyone had an issue of the calipers not being able to hold the rear wheels with your foot on the brake? I noticed the truck lost significant braking power, so I jacked up the rear end and the calipers grab and release with the pedal fully depressed. I started doing some research and it seems these calipers have given some Z28 owners fits. I could not find a resolution online. I’m going to see if I can adjust the Allen for the parking brake to see if this helps. I didnt know if anyone else here has had this same issue.
