You reply; "Sure! Also, how much to air up my tires?" The attendant answers: "Nothing- air is free. :) " You exclaim; "What Kinda Bizarro World Is This? !!! " |
Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Wow that’s so far back it reminded me of a neighbor that built his own chassis camper in 61-62. The plans came from a magazine article in something like Mechanics Illustrated. He purchased a brand new F250 cab/chassis to bolt it on. Last time I drove by around 1990 it was parked in the driveway as if it was still being used routinely.

My dad used to be a pump jockey back in 68-71 at an old Standard Oil station back in South Haven, Michigan. His dad was working the counter too,:lol:

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Say Lostmy65, in the dragster pic, if you scroll to the right, there's a twin engine dragster. I think I've seen that dragster in Hot Rod mag a while back. If it is him, that guy took two Olds 455 big blocks and had to custom machine the special bell housing to accommodate those to behemoths, lol.

I think the scratches on the camper shell will buff out.
|
Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
and notice that the shell is actually holding up the rear of that truck. A modern shell would have collapsed flat. Great example of "they dont build them like they used to"
