Re: What did you do with your truck today, Part 3
I love it Mark, looks like it was made for that!
And again, didn't "work" on the truck but I got the spindles all cleaned up and put in the box to ship out to SIDS for dropping the axle. I got a pitman arm coming that I needed along with a few other parts that my brother picked up today near his house which is 2.5 hours from me. His wife will be bringing to me tomorrow night, WHOOO HOOOO! I am selling things on eBay as I have mentioned I sold one thing that was up in my attic that paid for the rear shock mounts my brother picked up today for me. Damn it's fun to put something on there with a $25 "Buy it now" and starting bid of $10 and it ends up going to $52, LOL I love this stuff! Brian |

Man is this wild. I have a guy with a collection of parts trucks basically a wrecking yard specializing in AD trucks that is hours away. But he is minutes away from my brothers house. My brothers wife still lives by me and goes to his house every couple weeks for the weekend. Yes it's odd, don't ask. Well I can order stuff and then she brings it to me! Got a bunch of suspension parts that I was missing delivered to my door just now!

I went to a auction and bought a Farmall model A tractor. It has a Woods Belly mower. The tractor doesn't run. But I wanted the Mower for a Super A I have. I didn't have my trailer with me. So I picked up the rear of the tractor with my 82 wrecker. tied the steering wheel and drug it home 15 miles.

Got my 5+ minutes in. The axle is and steering linkage are wrapped up and ready to go. I'll have to take a long lunch and get it over to the post office over the next few days. I then got all the "new" suspension components I got dropped off this morning cleaned up and sand blasted ready for some epoxy primer. Moving along a little WHOOO HOOOO! Brian |

I finally got around to installing my stainless tailgate hinges on my 56 truck. The installation was a bit concerning, having to cut on my tailgate, but it all worked out as planned. I still have to put primer on the areas cut out. I'll be soon installing my tailgate latches.

The guitar got done aesthetically, but it looks like the kit was wired incorrectly from the factory. Others on the Internet have been reported as being wrong. The investigation -- and hopefully the fix -- will be tomorrow. Yes, the orange on the guitar (even though it doesn't look orange in the pic) is the color of the truck!

It really does work. I got off it for a month or so, and I am getting back on.

I have done nothing to my truck for three weeks. Despite Punxsutawney Phil's forecast, we have been getting new snow almost every day for the entire month. Just too cold to work in the garage. |

Haha, got me rolling. Ya, the 5 minutes on honey-do's is not equivalent to the garage time. |

My wife is so darn wonderful, no problems with any of that!
I got out there and primed all my goodies. Found that I had mixed too much primer so prepped a few more things and got them primed too. Now it's time for a little walk. :metal: Brian |

Changed my rear tires from 225/70-15 to 255/60-15. Subtle but major improvement in the overall look.
When I built the truck I couldn't afford larger rear tires so I bought a smaller set. Well, they always bothered me because they were too narrow. Today I found a set of used tires on Craigslist that were the right size. Yes, they're pretty worn (seller said they had a couple of burnouts left in them - yikes!) but they'll last awhile until I can locate better. First pic, old rear tires - note how they appear to roll under because they're not wide enough for the 8" wheel. Second pic, new rear tires are almost 2" wider, much better for the big bulbous panel truck rear end - plus they lowered my rear end another 1/4 inch - win, win! |
Re: What did you do with your truck today, Part 3
Right on guys!
I got all my parts I primed last night put away, and got a little done on the rear end to get it ready for primer. Put in my five minutes, WHOOO HOOOO!! Brian |
