Re: Daverods project 66
Kewler than mine for sure... The old race car is a little rough. the doors are welded shut, windows are removed and the the opera windows cut out (5 window) . Still has nerf bars, push bar and a full roll cage. You straddle the transmission and it still has a hand clutch.
Primitive race car from the 50"s , but it still a 33 plymouth!! Still, it is a very Neat race car and will make a Great rat rod if I leave it kinda racey but just barely street legal. Someday............... It is one of those barn finds you hear about, But it is our barn!!! |

Re: Daverods project 66
might get a nice piece of birdseye or that other swirly stuff glued on there and paint and polish and paint the edge with a little black line to hide it either that or flatten the wood thats on there and fill it up with lacker

Re: Daverods project 66
I was thinking a flywheel or a piece of granite.;) I'm not sure how thick you can make laquear brfore it starts to crack. I've seen some cool tops with stuff inside the laquear. Saw one with hand carved fish in it the laquear was abour 5 inches thick.

Re: Daverods project 66
Question? I was wondering why on some old cars the roof on the outside looked like it had a sunroof but if you looked in the inside it was just a normal roof. I saw this on several cars. The roof on the outside looked like it was covered in leather. I could'nt figure it out. I did find out that the frame I found was a 1928 model a truck. I guy had one there that he found under a tree. It still ran.;)

Re: Daverods project 66
They all had those kind of roofs. The hot rodders filled them with steel. On some of the sedan roofs they would put a roof from a doaner station wagon, or a van with the ribs. ;)
