Dennis, looking great my friend!
Question, who did your liner, what brand? |
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
thanks for that guys! ill send some pics in after she's finished and see what happens...
jeff, the liner is a rhino liner. i had them 1st spray the black in a regular texture(kinda chunky) then had them go over the top with their finest nozzle the color matched stuff. so far so good. and getting all the orig. seam sealer out and putting down new really made all the difference in the world |
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
dennis the truck is bad man contact street trucks i think you can get into that mag. Now you have to plan your road trips for shows next year. You have to come out to visalia man and come to danger zone you will like it. then we call roll out to the cpp and brothers truck shows. My truck handles that grapevine im sure yours would too, and look good doing it. Or get a spot at the sacramento autorama thatd be nice.

Your truck has such wide appeal. Older truck with modern power. A DIY build that would make a great feature in a wide variety of magazines. Great job bud!!!

thanks John! so i have still been going like hell to wrap up loose ends and finish her off even though there isnt much to show. worked on the one piece products window kit for the last 7 days. imho opp need to either do more r&d on their kit or have 7 you tube videos of trouble shooting and adjustments rather than 7 videos of a perfect no issues install.
i had the weak link over hauled with new axles, bearings, seals, 3.73's, and a eaton true track posi. shes much better getting off the line. onto the pics |

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Honestly,... I would lose the red bowtie.
Maybe a gray armrest to make them blend it. |
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
ok... i have some orig side pockets to cover the bowtie up but they are in black... ill attach them some how and snap a couple pics and tell me what ya think
|
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
I agree with the Bowtie, it looks out of place. The rest....WOW!
|
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Third on the Bowtie - dislike... Also on the armrest - looks out of place in black without some other two-tone on the panel. Could'a maybe went with red stitching to match the Bowtie to help make it look right.
Truck is still beautiful though man & make it what YOU want - not what we want!!! |

Tha map pocket rocks!
|
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Looks a lot better with the map pockets!!! Especially when installed & next to the seats!!! Forgot to mention it, but I agree with the others - lose the bed cover - it looks so clean without it & you did the paint matching in the bed liner too - why hide it???

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
And you need a billet steering wheel in there IMO....

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
i think the map pocket is the way to go. Do you have any more info on how the rear window was installed. i love that look!
I know ive said it before but your truck is truly BADA$$!!! |
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Honestly I like the look of the bowtie, keeps things different but with that said it would need to be on black panels instead
edit: maybe also a silver trim around the bowtie with black panels |

Right on thanks for all the input guys! As far as the rear window.... Which reminds me I gotta take a pic of the inside channel and pinch weld, I finally got that rubber piece that covers everything. It looks really nice. I had a well known glass company that usually just does hotrods high end stuff do the rear one for me. He basically said its a floating window. There's no stands or anything for the glass to sit on. He did it just like the old school cars and put one layer of sealant and let it dry to act as the mounting surface then the next day he filled in the gap and waited for it to dry then he did the outside finishing work to make it look even smooth and basically a triple seal around the glass.
