Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
My truck is a 1986 GMC. It has a 454 and a 4 speed and has been running on propane since January 1991. I converted it back to gasoline in the fall of 2011. It's also got some other nice features like power windows/locks, a/c and tilt steering.
Considering the area I live in, the truck was in pretty good shape for it's age. It also only had 130k km's on it when I bought it. This is how it looked the day I drove it home: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...IMG_0212-1.jpg And shortly after cleaning it up and putting it back to gas: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...r/IMG_1684.jpg And this is in the body shop this summer: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...MG_0425a-1.jpg I wanted to get it repainted now before the rust got out of hand. The frame and underside of the cab were both in great shape too. |

Here is mine. Picked it up a couple of months ago. Its a 1990 V3500 4x4. Had 85,000 original miles when I bought it. TBI 454, TH400 trans, NP205, Crew cab, DRW, 3+3, silverado trim, A/C, cruise control, tilt wheel, dana 60 front, dana 80 rear, factory tow package. Its an all factory option truck. I could hardly believe what I was seeing when I went to go look at it. Future plans is a cummins swap, 8" lift, 22" aluminum semi rims, some new paint, and some custom bumpers.

Look at the webbings on the diff, it will tell you what it is. Dana70hds use some of the same parts that are found on d80s. I gaurentee that it is a d70hd as that is what came in my dually.

I just joined the club but I haven't even seen mine in person yet. My wonderful wife got this for me even though she doesn't like "old stuff" so next month when I get home from Afghanistan will be the first time I see it in person. It was still begin driven on a regular basis. Even if that were not the case for 680 bucks it's a steal.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Out with the old in with the new. I have a question may have been asked before. Just got the red one, great condition A/C power cab, no motor or tranny. I was wanting to convert it to single wheel short bed. I can get a rear axle and front hubs from 3/4 ton. But is there anyway to get 1/2 ton controll arms, knuckles, rear diff etc into a crew cab? I have access to both trucks. Just want to lighten up the truck and have a bigger wheel selection. Good idea?

1973 3+3 camper special i picked up yesterday for $950. 454, 540 Allison automatic, minimal rust, plan is to turn it into a nice tow rig for my pulling tractor.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Any idea what this truck would be worth?
1990 2wd 6.2 t400 2 owner, has zero rust, 130K on truck 10k on new topend. has aftermarket (banks?) turbo kit has original wheels and tires that go with it. he is asking $12500I know the 24s are close to 5-6k with tires http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...reddually1.jpg http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p.../reddually.jpg |
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
I'm sorry, but those wheels and tires are hideous!! Talk about pimp my ride! Does it have a chocolate fountain in the back and a movie screen under the hood? Otherwise, it's a bad a$$ truck. I'd make the seller put the stockers back on it before I even drove it home tho. Sad, but you probably could sell the wheels and tires.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
After a couple weeks a little at a time I finally made it all the way through this thread. Whew, subd!

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Yes the wheels are a bit much, but without them what's it worth? When I look it up on NADA, it takes 20% off for being a oil burner, I am guessing the 454 is the preferred setup.
