Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Finally got my new Nitto 40"x13.50x17" Mud Grappler's on a few check overs and took it for a rip in the snow, sure takes the big block a long time to heat up in the -35c weather, but sure like the new huge tires, fit so well with the lift, just the perfect size. Life is great.

Hey mud man, what is your rear bumper from and have you been on the highway with those nittos yet?

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Rear bumper is a GM 2005 rear, fits pretty nice compared to an ugly stock unit from 81. Just went to canadian tire about 5 miles away and back for my first trip, they seem to work nice. have a few buddy's with smaller 35's and they like them a lot and seem to wear really well mileage wise. all I know is they are a bit bigger and not quite as wide as the 38.5x14.50's I had and steer a bit better. Plus they sure look nicer. Glad I have a big block to turn them though.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
I had a set of 35 x 12.5's on another truck I had and all I can say is make sure you have a loud sound system

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Ahh, I usually run Boggers so noise doesn't bother me at all, love that sound plus my big block is nasty "all" the time.

I'm new to this forum, but thought that joining would help my restoration. Here's my 1981 GMC Sierra Classic 1500. I bought her December of last year, and have been slowly starting to clean her up since then. She's got a 350 Big Block V8, pretty standard. It has brand new 2.5" dual exhaust with 3.5" tips sounds killer! Currently in the process of replacing her old T350 trans, with a blown... well... everything... Any good tips on restorations? I was also wondering how I repair a driver's side power door lock that doesn't work... only the passenger side is operational.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Hard to say on the power locks, could just be switch on that door, no Chevy 350 big blocks though, not chev anyway, just 350. Looks like a good truck overall to build, happy building, lots of tips, idea's and help on here, don't forget to post pic's of work done, we all like to see stuff.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Mud Man, thanks for the reply :) Yeah, she's really solid... I have to pull the door panels off anyways, so I'll take a look then. If any other questions come up, I'll be sure to give you a shout. My truck actually came from Saskatchewan, seeing where you're from! I am it's second owner... which is quite hard to come by! anyways, cheers, my friend :)

I have never heard of the gauges fogging up, they usually are sealed half decent, have to just rip it apart and have a look I guess.

Mud.Man, Zoom in on this picture to the gauges. Yes, this is an all original interior, but looking at the gauges should give you a better picture!

Have to take it apart and clean it with something to help prevent fogging, crazy fog though. Like driving blind, well not quite blind.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Good tip! I will surely have more in the future!

Here is my 1987' K10 (converted to K20) longbed. It was restored by the previous owner around 10 years ago. I got it 2 years ago and put another $3k into it with rebuilt front/rear axles, new window seals, trim, headliner, cd player, wheels and tires and new rear springs. TBI 350 motor with 4.10 axles.
