Today I pulled it out of the weeds, aired up the tires, and noticed some @$$hole got in my truck and cut off the pigtail and plug off my dimmer switch!

I cut them to spec according gmcpauls write up, or as close as I could. Now I have to cut the grooves etc in them. I made some practice cuts on some scrap, using just a regular combination blade, anyone else just use a regular blade to cut the grooves? Did you go the full 1/4" wide?

I hope that they are dry

fulled up the gas tank with 50 bucks at 3.49 a gallon lol and it only last me 3 day gone to work and back like 74 miles round trip so it like 222 miles for a full tank is that normal for a stright 6 250 motor

I like that way of thinking.... you would think with a nickname like Sig Shooter people would think twice before stealing from a red blooded, gun packing, redneck from the south!

Yes, nice and dry. I thought it was a real reasonable deal on the wood. I cut all the grooves etc in them today. They turned out very nice, but I didn't go the full 1/4 inch wide for the grooves (about 3/16").

White oak is a great choice in wood, and particularly beautiful if the annual growth rings are perpendicular to the board face (quartersawn). There is no reason you can't make the required grooves with a standard blade. Just make a pass and move the fence over a tad for another pass until the groove is as wide as it needs to be. You'll be pushing the planks over the saw many times each, but it'll work.

Not what I have done but more what needs to be done, replace heater core, it blew out Thursday morning on the way to work, its from radiator exspress, ( 55 plus tax vs 79 plus tax thru LMC ) they are the cold glue type, lasted eight years, not sure I want to go the glued route again. Mann it sured fogged up the interior in a hurry, could`ntt see anything at 4:00 am in the morning when the outside temp was 28 degees, had to open both windows to clear out....it was cold. Does anybody know if LMC`s are soldered or glued.....?

I went to bleed my brakes today and ended up with another blown brake line. Right rear portion just before the rubber brake hose. Pretty sure the rubber hose has collapsed so I ordered a new one from Ecklers.

Today replaced the driverside bed panel. I picked up a shortbed about a month ago for $100. Well traded it for a 292 that I paid 100 for. Now need to decide on one piece of high quality plywood or a bed kit. Also got a gilmer drive kit. Need to find a different alt bracket for it to work.

Nothing on the truck but related. I picked up the gas cylinder for my new mig welder and began the learning process. I can't believe it took me 45 years to do this. I had a lot of fun, managed to get a half decent bead by the time I quit, and I didn't burn down the garage or burn or electrocute myself. It was a good day!!:ennyd:

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Sorry wrong pic. No airbags installed yet. Basically the rundown, I built my own crossmember and lowered the truck about 4 1/2 inches with stock spindles and control arms. didn't need it to lay out since it will be a driver. Still have to raise engine about 1 1/2 for rack clearance. will box and gussett everything after I fit a cpl more pieces, then make it look pretty, LOL!. Also have all the Painless wiring harnesses laid out, too. Hope to start on the dash and sheet metal work next week. Body going to media blasting while I finish chassis.
Hey guys, all your projects are looking great too! There's alot of talent in this group, just hope mine will stack up. BTW we plan on attending the Midwest All Truck Nats with both projects. Look forward to meeting some of you.
