29/18's Mickey Thompson street radials. Just put on new weld drag lites. The old weld wheels were bent.

What rear suspension are you running? I am hoping to run my trailing arms and bags with at least a 15" wide tire, I cut my bed to the frame trying to get as wide as possible......... thankks for the input!

Stock 12 bolt rear , tubbed the fenders ..you have to pull the ebrake cable out of the way and put in a adjustable stablizer bar to keep the bed centered around those big meats. this is another truck I built

Hey bobshotrodblazer,

Where did you get that diamond-plate material for the bed on that beauty? Was it "kit" form or just custom-cut/applied? It looks so much sweeter than the stock bed replacement I've been thinking about. :)

I was fortunate enough to have a sheet metal shop in the same warehouse as my project . I measured and made patterns and he broke the diamond plate.

I am a new member, great site. I have spent about six hours browsing pictures and researching VIN and option codes. I have a 1972 Cheyenne(pictures attached) and have just bought a '72 Blazer. The previous owner of the Cheyenne replaced the bumpers, mirrors, a few emblems and the headliner. I replaced the instrument bezel and put the matching woodgrain decals on the glove box door and ashtray. I know these are not original to the non-super Cheyenne, but I like the look. The truck was repainted and the seat was recovered sometime in the '80s. I think the bed rails were added as well. The truck is air conditioned and has been converted to the newer refrigerant. I am interested in buying new reproductions of the original full wheel covers, could someone suggest a source?

Welcome to the board! That is a very nice looking truck, very nice. As far as the wheel covers go you will have find some clean used or NOS, as they are not being reproduced.

I'm guessing you are referring to the pics on pg. 1 which was in 2006. We are now on pg. 181 so you may want to PM Down South Truckin in case he does not follow this thread anymore.;) BTW....:welcome2: to the board from SC.

JeffD, that's a good looking truck. Reminds me of the one I had -- 72 Cheyenne lwb, 402 and A/C, black on black from the factory. Yours is a lot cleaner, though.

The floorand head board are 1/8" held in place by the stock holes around the edges but I replaced all the carriage bolts with polished stainless bolts . I polished each one because they didn't carry polished carriage bolts.
The sides and tailgate are 1/16" held in place with tiny SS sheet metal screws

Bob, what air conditioning system did you use? also looks like your firewall has some sort of adapter for the hose/line installation to cover the existing holes in the firewall. most I see are flat and have had filler panels welded in and smoothed.

Does this Diamond Plate go right over the old floor? Is it one piece?

Heres my baby. I'm 16 and this is my first car. Me and my dad found it with a blown motor for real cheap and couldn't resist. We bought it and swapped the blown motor with a stock 350. Original Arizona truck but the previous owner before me drove down to Boise, Idaho to pick it up and brought it back to Winnipeg. Just waiting for the snow to melt before i can drive it again!
