Thinking about what I want to do to this truck.

Does your truck have a plaid seat ? If so check out the link below and it would be good if you could post some pics of your truck along with picture of the spid label on that thread.

No I think it is the angle of the photo. Don't think I could drive it that close together. :)

Steering Wheel Service

Thanx ! .

What did you use to clean it first ? .

I just bought an old ('59) VW Beetle and the steering wheel is in O.K. shape but filthy and the original paint is worn through .

Bummer. I couldn't give mine away for $25. I ended up tossing it when I moved.

Slider Backlights

Most Californians take them out, other places less so .

I always remove them and then can't give them away .

I try to give away left over parts because so many have helped me as I go along...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

I needed a slider for my truck as the one in my truck was damaged in the tornado ... I wanted to keep my slider stock as my truck came with a rear slider ... .

Ha! That's hilarious. Is that the ultra rare "Fawn" color material you used for the repair? Ha, ha.

Thanks I appreciate that. I'm making due. I moved from GA having a my house with a 2 car garage to Los Angeles in a 1 bedroom apartment paying 4 x my mortgage. Most of my work has been in the dark parking garage of the apartment or a empty parking lot across the street on the weekends. Don't tell anyone or they may kick me outta both ;). Body work and block sanding is a killer without air for my tools. I'm a claims adjuster and do have connections to some shops to use their facilities when I'm not working on Saturday's. But 75% has been my desire to get some stuff done on the weekends at my apartment. It has been a fun journey.
Here is a before and in process. It was shortened already with new bedsides, but I did suspension and bodywork.

I woke up my truck from a years slumber and moved it from storage to the side of my yard that I can actually drive out of. The brakes need attention but with fresh gas it fires up on the first turn of the key. I am about to do a 14 bolt swap and hydroboost brake swap. Glad to allocate some time to my old girl. Amazing how good she looks in pictures.

Yeah, the Cutlass is going back to my oldest son. I pulled out my 327 and th350 to put in the truck last year. He is going to do an LS engine in it.Here it is when we took it and the camper to Arkansas. I got a lot of thumbs up with that.

I got these items done Wednesday night before Thanksgiving;

New turn signal switch - I now have brake lights, turn signals, easier horn operation, etc...

New ignition cylinder & new door lock cylinders all to one key - I don't think my grandpa ever locked the truck - so there was no round key, got all locks working smoothly and the ignition key doesn't come out in just any position.

got the glove box button replaced - had to drill out the old one - replaced everything, now works like a charm!

Great looking color. 3 months in the shop, is that typical? Are shops working on these old trucks as time permits? In other words, doing the higher paying collision repairs is a higher priority?

Finally found a local set of 15x8, 6-Lug steelies.

They came off a Blazer with 30k original miles.

I'm really on the fence about what color to paint/powdercoat for my black swb. I was thinking an argent silver (or something similar, semi-gloss) and the stock 1970 chrome hubcaps with blue bow tie, no beauty rings.

Hopefully the picture will attach:
