Termites are the worst . I had a small problem with them they sprayed the area and then put in bait stations . I refilled them twice and after about 3 months no bait was taken but the stations are still in the ground .

Due to the current heat I didn't do anything. I was going out there working on the outboard motor and boat but now, well, it's not going anywhere any time soon so no rush.
Speaking of outboard motor, I did myself a favor and converted my motor to electric start and charge. I don't use the rig often but it is getting increasingly difficult for me to pull start it. It's cooler than the other side of the pillow now.

I'm on a self imposed work slow down today. The heat and my house work has caught up with me. Will get washer/dryer off the porch and back into the laundry room, and some other small things. The siding can wait till tomorrow. ;)

Watched roofers skin off the old roof and repair some dry rot. "Supervised" the delivery and placement of the new underlayment and shingles onto the roof. Boy, were those delivery guys grumpy, bordering on belligerent. After 5 PM on a hot hot Friday would be a good excuse, I guess. ;)

Working in this heat is murder. I've done it and can't say that I liked it. After 5 pm you probably wouldn't want to be around me either.

My Fedex guy is usually nice and chatty. This last delivery not so much. It was 107 degrees and he looked miserable.

It’s hard to do anything in the garage these days. Even at only 97-deg, no thanks.

I go out in the morning and inside by about 1pm. It was 98º yesterday with a heat index of 105º. Nice 88º today with a decent breeze. I can handle that.

The first 90-deg day in early summer feels pretty hot. But after a few weeks straight of 105-113, 95 feels AMAZING…

That's about the same for me. The heat and humidity in the ole metal build are getting tough on this old yankee body.

FEDEX Ground allegedly delivered my new grille from LMC at 10:17 PM yesterday. I say allegedly because I have video cameras up, and there isn't even an indication of a vehicle driving on the street, as they pick up the reflection of the headlights off of things at the very least. Let alone someone in the driveway. Drove around the neighborhood looking to see if it was simply mis-delivered, but didn't see it. :cuss: I'm going to post a request on our HOA FaceBook page to see if anyone else has video.

FWIW I've had the same thing happen and it shows up a day later. Creative accounting on the drivers part??

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

That may well be...but there was a picture taken of the package leaning against a garage wall...but it's not my garage. Our HOA is architecturally different from the rest of the houses on either side. I realized that when I was out trolling for the box. I have a claim in with FEDEX already.

Is that a lawn chair made out of an AG implement in your pic?
If so, can you snap a pic of that?

Kinda sorta. ;) The wheels and axle were from a John Deere baling machine that I saved from the cutting torch 40 years ago. I was given 16 cultivator wheels that were being used to break up ice in a parking lot, also considered scrap! The bench part is a piece of metal fence. The bench is not welded to the axle nor are the discs. Did not want to really mess with the axle. If we want it to recline further, just step on the discs to press them deeper in the dirt.

I kinda felt my age today. I applied for Social Security a while back and they finally set me up with a phone appointment. In September. Funny how when they took that money out of my paycheck for decades there was no delay. But when I want some back then I need to take a number. No hurry. :bs:

But this conformation letter cracked me up. The font is huge. I guess that they know their audience. Old people.

I put the conformation for my wife's cruise to Mexico next to it for comparison.
I'm not going to Mexico. :ito: No way am I going to be stuck on some floating septic tank with my wife and her friends. All the husbands said no so I didn't catch too much heat over that. Power in numbers. :metal:

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

It's been another unseasonably hot and dry summer up here too. Way behind on rain and in another drought year.
My previous shop was built into a hillside with 3 sides 80% below grade and heavily wooded old growth trees for shade. The roof was a light beige color as well. The shop area was well insulated and even in 90 degree temps, it stayed 72 degrees inside, as long as I kept the doors shut.
My "new" place, the shop building has a dark green roof and receives direct sun most of the day. It gets mid to upper 80's in there, even being heavily insulated now. I gave up trying to work in there in that heat and ordered a mini-split A/C system, but who knows when I will get that installed. It's too damned hot to work on that too..

Turns out it was at my neighbor's house. If it had been in front of the garage like the delivery person said, we'd've seen it. It was behind a pillar with lots of plants blocking the view, next to his front door. That's quite a ways from the front of the garage.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

My elderly (older than I, anyway) next-door neighbor came over this morning and asked if I had bought a grill for a Chevrolet truck. He thought that someone had sent him a present (didn't read the label  ). A friend of his looked at it and told him it belonged at my house. It was on his porch, behind a pillar that is covered with ivy. No way to see that from the street. Well, it's here, it's shiny, and undented. Time to start putting hardware on it. :)

Something tells me you thought that out first. Been there, done that. One of my favorite sayings is "If there's a wheel, there's a way". Comes from doing whatever needs done concerning vehicles in a one man show

Nice looking rig, and AC is always nice (though that one needs a bit of work).

I spent some time converting over to a better fence for my table. Going to buy some metal tomorrow to finish up the adapters. Converting from the factory "infinitely adjustable" fence to an Incra fence that is repeatable any time to a high degree of precision.
