Frame came out real nice with the hat pressure washer . All the original brake lines look new . The pressure washer rental cost me $96 for the day I would do it again in a heartbeat.

That came out nice, and you didn't even have to take the washer off the trailer. Mighty handy.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

.

Started prepping to replace the water pump today. Decided the radiator and fans needed to come out so I started draining it and unhooking lines and hoses. The goal was not to make a mess. With that in mind I decided to move the truck out of the shop onto the gravel to remove the radiator and pump, this way any coolant in the block could just run out there. OK! I hop in the cab and fire it up, pull it into reverse and didn't get that immediate thump into gear...it took me maybe a second to go from I'm gonna move this truck to engine OFF NOW!

...and so now I get to do exactly what I was trying to avoid, and then some!

Not on my truck, I just drove mine to my buddies. New power steering is working great and wish I’d done that swap sooner.
Helped my buddy get his radiator in, all hooked up, and filled. We then rebuilt the driveshaft with all new u joints and carrier bearing. Got right the point of ready to fire up and ran out of time. Ready for first start and break in after full rebuild.

'72 Fremont truck, early in the production year. That's looking really nice!

Oh yeah, I went to a local car show. Lots of vehicles, from over 90 years to the present. I remember when a Model T ford was only a few decades old.

Got my AM tuner unfrozen, got my BT unit and speaker switch mounted.
Next we find out if the AM unit works with the speakers....if it still works at all ;-)

Finished up the power steering install by securing the lines and re-installing the inner fender. Wife and I took it on about an hour drive. Now on to finishing up the rear bumper.

Neat process.
I had a crack in the drivers side manifold of the 454 BBC in my '67 K/10 Sub. I tried JB Weld. Unlike the claims on the package side, it burned off after a while.
There were Ram Horn exhausts on the small block in my '71 GMC Jimmy when I bought it. After It sucked a couple of valves [#6 + #7], I bought a Mr Goodwrench crate motor 350. I noticed the exhausts were different. The RH one had tapped bores for A.I.R. but the LH was pre-Emissions. I didn't like the possibility of different backpressures, so I got Headman headers.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I was checking fuses on my new-to-me 2003 Tahoe. [Weird electric window issues.] When I dropped something, so I crawled under the motor.
I didn't find the tiny piece I had lost but I did find a 1'' piece of blue sparkplug wire. I had moved the '71 Jimmy out rom under the carport so I could check on the Tahoe in the shade. The Jimmy had run rough, but I thought it was just a cold engine.
I looked under the hood and found a packrat had chewed thru the #5 cylinder plug wire. No. 5 is hard to get to on a 4-Speed truck with Power Steering. I found a used plug wire I can try, but I'm not sure I got the terminal to click on the sparkplug tip.
I'll get back after it tomorrow. The sun went down on me today.

lol . I’ve gotten to the point on my trailers I buy one new set and rotate them to the trailer I need at the time . Tires dry rot on them before they wear out .

My tire guy (son in law) got me Nokias outpost tires for my Nissan . $600 out the door . Must have fallen off the delivery truck

Simple tire lists them at $160 apiece

Hopefully in the short rows of a power steering install on my 67. Everything has gone about a smooth as expected to this point. Waiting on new hoses as the initial ones I purchased I did not like the way they fit.

It looks like the power steering box I installed is going to cut about one full steering wheel turn from lock to lock. I will have to learn how to drive the truck all over again.

I have a friend with a 67 he wants to convert but docent want to indent the frame for the box was that your method ?

I rolled the dice and got a CPP steering box (part #cp50014) and ordered through summit racing. It bolted right up without any frame or bumper bracket modifications needed.

Thanks, coming from you that’s a real compliment!

It was a square body dealership bumper that I narrowed and made new mounting for.

Looks good. I lowered my tail lights as well, ended up shortening the brackets so the taillights didn't stick out too far. Think I cut 1/2 to a an inch off each bracket.
Didn't care for the pancake lights.
