Hello everybody. i am new to the site and never been on a forum before but i would like to show off my baby. I started this frame off project in October of last year. It has 3" spindles and a flip kit for now. We shaved the mirrors and drip rails. I am currently building a 400 small block for it.

Thanks for the compliments guys! They are greatly appreciated. The truck sat painted for 6 years before my wife informed me that she registered us for the Power Tour (07) and wondered if the truck would make it to Arkansas (from Cleveland). We put a 290hp crate motor in it, had the TH350 rebuilt and dynamatted the interior and put the truck back together. Got 200 miles on it before it was time to head to Cleveland for the start of the tour. Thank god she registered us or it may still be sitting waiting to be finished!
As for the specs, front has 3" spindles and 2" springs with a coil cut, rear is 3" de-arched leaf springs and a flip kit and custom C-notch (copied from a bell tech). The rear wheels are 20x10 with 295/40-ZR20 tires and the fronts are 20x8 with 255/35-ZR20. Paint is HOK Tangelo Pearl.

FLowmaster's head of marketing Dave Fetherston doing a photo shoot of it for a book he made. I won it as a prize from Flowmaster on the Power Tour.

Rolling into Memphis Motorsports Park. Spectre Performance hooked me up with one of their dual inlet air cleaner kits that are fed through the factory holes in the core support, hence the Spectre sticker on the windshield. They let me park in their booth for the rest of the tour as well.

Nice truck, not to mention Silver is one of the most unforgiving colors and the truck looks straight! Keep us posted.

Hey all, had it about two weeks. Going crazy will all the stuff I wanna do, but really enjoying driving it. 79 Cheyenne SWB. Goodwrench 350/th400. On the horizon are tires, headers, a little rust repair, and some engine clean up. I'm pretty new to this stuff, so I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot from me - I've learned plenty already and really appreciate the help!

Man! That is one sharp looking truck love it. what are your plans for it?

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

For now, just little things here and there. It'll be a daily driver, so nothing too crazy, and I'm a fan of stock looks, so I have a feeling most of the changes will be under the hood. Cleaning up the firewall, pulling unnecessary emission vacuum parts (help!), headers, painting some stuff orange so it looks cool:lol:. First thing though is to fix the tranny. It's totally drivable, but occasionally sticks when coming out of a stop and can take 4 or 5 seconds to downshift into first. Otherwise, it shifts fine. From what I've read, it sounds like a stuck governor. We'll see. Thanks!

Nice looking rig brother but I must say..."Go lower", that gap on the 18s has to be closed.

Either way, gorgeous truck.

Its been a ouple of weeks since I`ve posted...since then I`ve found out my frmae had damage which has made my rig sit horrible. Since then Ive lowered the rear and front an inch. Here is the new stance with some minor touches here and there.

The frame was damaged previously, the front driver wheel was sittin a whole inch towards the cab and inward. Fixed now.

The front fender markers, turn signals and sway bar got some minor touch ups...

I love your truck man, what kind of wheels are those and what offset and tires? also like the white black combo, any pics of the front?

Stepper562 07-25-2011 06:26 AM

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Thx bro. The wheels are Boss 338s. 20x8.5 and 20x10.5. Tires are 245/40 and 295/40 soon to be 315/35. The offset I have no idea about. These wheels only come in one offset, this size for our trucks from what I know.

I'll be installing a new bumper this weekend I'll take some pics of the front and post them.

Thanks Wiggins, Those are American 200s mags, mine are vintage 70's era, but they still make them today. Commonly known as Daisys or Coke Bottle mags.

The stance on that truck is perfect, I love the rake. What's been done to get it there? The wheels look fantastic on it too.
