Wow, I just found your build! You are an amazing designer and fabricator. I really like the direction it headed. Keep up the progress. I’ll be following.

It's amazing how much a little bit of sanding makes things look way better. Welds look good to me, if something is going to brake off I think you have bigger problems.

That's looking really nice. I've experienced the same as you. I have days when I pick up the welder I just have to put it down. But I have other days that every weld just comes out beautiful. It's unexplainable. I think yours look just fine. Keep at it!

and back to progress! vacation prep, vacation, more family events, lots of life happening this last month. oh yeah and my TJ whipped another set of gears in the rear axle, so had to rebuild that too.

so i went thru and wire brushed, then wire wheeled everything that's getting the heat-shield undercoating, then prepped with rust-prep. what a mess, but it's done. also did the core support while i was at it so it can get painted. that'll be a key to getting thins running.

got a little more into 3D trying to place the intercooler heat exchangers. they are not small, haha. i think this is the final place, but now i need to come up with a sexy yet functional, and somewhat over-engineered mount for them.

Good job on the sealing, thats very unfun work but its satisfying to have finished! I'm gonna go ahead and skip that entirely on mine... I can't see it so I CAN ignore it!

got the heat exchanger mount finished up in 3D, and a pump mount that i didn't get pictures of. plate is getting cut today or tomorrow and should have it before the weekend!

Very nice! That's a great blank slate to be able to have. Now you can set it up how ever you want for a fraction of a new unit.

Re: Project: Tow-Rat (Lil' Blue)

i found another distraction!! uuugghhh

this time in the form of what took me YEARS to find. Clean, 2dr, 2000-2001, 6cyl, patriot blue, Jeep Cherokee. has an auto, needs a manual, but i'll take care of that easy enough right now. got it from a buddy for a great deal cuz the head was cracked due to a freeze plug behind the flywheel rusting thru. since the trans has to come out to fix that, i'm picking up a 5spd donor jeep tonight.
