That's some excellent work! I planned on hard-lining mine but DOT tubing is so easy, so I put it off to a later date for functionality's sake.

where did you get the valve covers

They are from CFR performance. I had a guy on here powder coat them for me the wrinkle black. They came polished aluminum from CFR. Here is a link.

For the brake lines, I ordered 4 or 5 6ft lengths. It cost $17.70 per 6ft length at inline tube.

Funny you say that, because I want to start over after seeing all this cool stuff come out from Porterbuilt and Suicide Doors. I've been working on this thing so long, the only thing that was available when I was doing my chassis was the Dropmember which at the time I thought was too expensive. Looking back, I should have dropped the coin. Well at least I can say that I fabricated everything myself vs. buying stuff.

Good grief. Some of this stuff looks like a factory build. Very nice work. An inspiration to many of us.

I need your opinions. I am in the middle of smoothing my firewall. I will post more pics later, but wanted to run these by you first. I had planned to do some kind of recessed panels in the firewall but cant decide if I like it. Here are three pics, one just plain and smooth, one with a single recessed area, and one with two recessed panels. Let me know if you like any of these OR if you have any ideas. Suggestions welcome!! Oh, btw, these are photoshopped over my piece of poster board template.

Jlaird if you look at my firewall, it is smoothed, something to compare to. I really like the double recessed one, just gives it a little depth, nicely done in my opinion. BTW the lines turned out frickin amazing, gonna be good when done!

I vote single recessed.

Ok, I'm gonna be a wimp on this one.
I like the recess but can't decide which one I like better.
I like the smooth also though.

Go ahead, bash me for being undecisive.

lol

How about doing a recess of a bowtie?

lowrollin70gmc 09-08-2009 12:42 AM

Re: Project: Bad Bagged '68.5

Single recess. Keeps it simple and almost factory appearing. Double clutters the eye and the column would interrupt one of them and break up the vertical symmetry.
