I got the rear shock upper perches changed out. This is what I use to gring the head of the rivet off.

Then knock it out. It is really easy to do with the bed off.

The rear end is almost done just need the spring retainers from CPP. Nothing is tight yet. I will wait till it's on the ground before torquing.

Since there is not much to do to the frame. I worked on getting the AC box mounted.

There is a clearance issue wth the cowl vents. I think I can bend the handle down. There is a cover that covers the lines that I have removed for now.

Still waiting on CPP parts to finish up the frame. :banghead: I've been dreading cutting in and mounting the defrost ducts. It took alot of measuring and figuring it out as I went. I think it turned out good. I think the openings are big enough not to whistle. I might hook up a airline on the duct and see what happens.

I drilled holes and put pieces of thread all in the holes and welded the top of the rod even with the dash and ground flat. I had to put 1"extensions (washers) because the nut was too close to the duct so I couldn't tighten it up. With the extension it worked great.

I still haven't got my parts from CPP. I called today and was told that one item is back ordered. They should have relayed the info. That might be the problem with others not getting their items in a reasonable time.

I did get something in the mail today. I got this off of ebay. It's a serpentine setup. It came with everything (including bolts) except a water pump. I've got to see which water pump I have to use. It is in awesome visual shape. It is used, but at a 1/4 the cost, right now I call it a great deal.

I also started to work on one of the bedsides. I'm welding up the joints for a smoother finish.

Jump around with the welds to keep the heat down. I stayed on my welds too long. I knew better. I should have kept my weld lenght to under an inch. It made a few bumps that I tapped down. The metal in those areas are strong unlike in the middle of the panel. Don't forget clean metal. I can't remember if you have any welding experience or not.

I ordered on November 19 and found out yesterday (Dec 1) it is back ordered. I'm chomping at the bit to get them. Once I get them the frame will be rolling.

i do have some experience. I'm certified and weld lots of heaver stuff.
still a bit of a novice when it comes to sheet metal.
I have read lots on the subject, and know the techniques, just need practice and a better welder

Thing looks great, I can't wait to see it!! Great things come to those who wait, and take their time!! Your going with dop 2.5" spindles and 4 in the rear? Just wondering.... What ever happens I'm sure its going to be cool..

Your right 2.5/4 drop for now. Thanks for the comments. It's time to go out to the shop and see what I can get into.

I've got a list of parts that I need for my 383. I built it, but then took alot of stuff off of it to get another engine running. The 383 has about 500 miles on it. The parts list is just a bunch of nickel dime things. I need another small block that I could pelfer off of. Hey sdailey are you home? You've got a small block right. :lol::lol:

I figured out how to roll the speedo back. The zeros are in the wrong position on the shaft which is easy to fix, but then I ran into a bigger problem.

The housing was froze up. I eventually got it freed up.

The needle was froze up on the shaft which eventually broke. It had to be removed to take the speedo apart. I don't think I can repair the pin. Anybody got a speedo for sale? Ebay here I come.
