Here you go Kabwe
This is my Forest Gump moment (not the first nor last). I got ahead of myself on the drivers door. I cut the radius at the top just like I did on the pasenger side and low and behold I had a huge gap when I put the radius on the cab. I ended up having to add a new radius to the door along with a piece of welding rod to the back of the door to fix it. The pics tell the story better than I can so here they are. Kim |

Heres a few more pics of the fix. I still have to finish dressing the welds.
The gap at the top was larger than I wanted also so I'm fixing it also and will post pics when it's a little farther along. Kim |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Well the final result is all that matters and it looks great. We all have Forrest Gump moments.lol

Well I don't have a lot to report.
I've been helping my brother on his 54 furd that's in my garage. I was able to borrow a set of tires for the front and get an idea of where my stance will be. These are 215/60-15s. At this height my cross member is 4" above the ground. It looks like I have enough clearance to run a larger tire so I may do that and see if I can get the front fenders a little lower. Kim |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Everything is looking great. Keep up the good work.

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Cool !!! Im watching your build real nice!

Re: My 57 Pro Street
I love this build. I just picked upa pair of 215/60/15's for mine and am trying to get the stance just right before my coils go in. Most of the ones I see, including my buddy's gorgeous 55, run 205's. I will have to bring the front end up a bit, with the Camaro front, to clear the tires. Will end up rolling the fender lips to get little more clearance. Keep up the great work

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Thanks for the compliments guys I do appreciate it.
I'm hoping the economy pics up and gas goes down so I will have a little more cash to put into it. Rusty Hooker I have a lot of room with the 215s and may try to go to a 225. Kim |

I'm really contemplating sectioning my hood now. It looks a little large with the front of the truck low. Kim |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
call me jealous!!!
I wish I were that far a long... GREAT WORK! I love all the little time consuming details that you are doing. I also have been following a long with your build. I just don't reply too much... keep it coming... :metal: Brian |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Great ideas and all the skill to back it up. Looking GOOD!!

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Kim looks excellent!! Can I ask a question? Sometimes pictures are deceiving but are your rear wheels centered in the rear fenders?

I know they look a little forward in the pics but with the 4 link I'll be able to move them back a bit. My biggest concern were the fronts. This is the first time I've had them on since it had the clip done. Kim |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Your truck looks awesome! Bet you can't wait to take it for the 1st spin...

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Thanks kgmunro.
Yeah I'm itching to get it done. Getting the front tires on has given me a little more incentive to get busy on it again. Kim |

Well I started on the hood mods.
I looked at what Kabwe and Tri-5 did and went in the same direction. I leveled the hood and then used a laser level to set the first line on the front of the hood. After laying tape to match that line I lowered it by 1" and then cut the tape to match that. |

After studying what that was going to look like I decided that the transition from the top of the hood to the front would be to drastic. I wanted a smoother transition so I made the top of that line the bottom and raised my cut by 1".

On with the cutting.
I cut out the front brace and sliced a notch out of the rear one. |

Put the hood back on and tacked it in position so it wouldn't move.
Marked the center line of the hood so I could keep it all lined up. Cut the top first and then the bottom. |
