At a stand still with the paint job, well actually going backward. The paint job on the cab didn't turn out at all the way i was looking for. After trying to fix the orange peel issues i found the paint was lifting at a few places. So here i am blasting the paint of the cab again and starting all over.

Did you have any issues with getting the engine level from side to side?? I did some research on those mounts (for the older camaro's) and they are different heights or did you order 2 of the same one??

The side to side was an issue, i don't have any pictures but i did modified those Camaro mounts a lot, well until the fitted right. I cut them down about 1/2 inch if i remember good. I centered the engine without mounts measured the distance between the bloc mounts and cross-member and cut the frame mount to fit.

Ok, thanks. I was hoping it was going to be more straight forward, but since you had to modify them "alot" then I will just build my own like I was planning to do.

Very little done on the truck since the flop with the paint job. I'm trying to decide if i redo it myself or if i find someone else to redo the body work and then paint it myself. Reworked the back bumper this past weekend. My first one was very rusted on the ends. Had to use two bumper to make one that was decent , i used the ends of one and the center of the other one and cut in a license plate. I'm also reworking the front bumper a little, pics to come.

I have to say, JML55, that I am enjoying your buid thread tremendiously. It was a way to spend an evening reading about your truck. It's been a long road, the effort is outstanding and the results are speaking for themselves. Persevere and you will have one sick looking ride when you are done!

Curious though, what shade of green did you choose??

I have yet to start a build thread on my 56 Chevy but will post tons of pics as I appreciate all the pics on this site.

Thanks Woodbutcher, It's the New Camaro green, I'm thinking something a little different for the second time around.

Worked on the front bumper mods this weekend. I though it would be fairly simple mod but it turn out to be a bit of work. Here is before and after pics, can you see what is different?

Looks like you installed something inside the bullets?? Maybe a baby moon hub cap?? But, there is an insert of some kind.

Looks really good too, what ever it is.

That is a beautiful grill, Jean-Marc. Did you modify the bullets?

No, it never had a mesh in there from the factory and the GMC script would have been on the front of the hood.

I'm kinda do'n the same thing to my grill, do you happen to have a pic of the back of your assembly? How'd you mount the mesh to the grill? Weld tabs on?

That's what I wanted to hear. ;), Now I would like to know where you got the mesh from, cause I can't find any that would work for me.

This is an old exhaust stack shield from a big rig i had kinking around the shop. It's attached to the filler panel that is between the bullets at the bottom and to the under edge of the cross over bar.

Yes I got a pair of 57 GMC bullet because i like that they have a little bit more character then the 55 ones with the cone part in the center. It wasn't just a swap they had to be modified to fit right. I guest since the 57 doesn't have the crossover bar they have a little bit different shape, they are shorter and do not mount quite in the same location. First i had to cut out the inner braces and remount them to fit the holes in the bumper. Then i added a strip about 1 1/2" that i cut of some old beat up 55 bullets i had to the edge to give me a place to attach the crossover bar.
